Hello -

I just noticed this today since I hung around the garage after getting off my scoot. A 2018 GTS.

Engine is off, resting on side stand, keys are in the ignition but it's all the way off.

About every 3-5 seconds (regular intervals) there's thin "waaaa" sound that sounds like a cow dying - or in labor pains. It happened for a good 20 mins or more before I headed back inside.

I can't tell where it's coming from. Any thoughts?

I would guess that the fuel tank is heating up a bit from the engine, and air is expanding and escaping through the fuel tank cap vent. If you removed the cap the sound would go away with a whoosh.

I had a Toyota van that would do the same thing. Was the fuel pump keeping the fuel pressure in check. It got louder as time went on but I never tried to replace it.

It also happened to me years ago ... excess of vapors in the petrol tank and (with the car) delayed descent of the shock absorbers.
