I need to remove this foam and clean up the compartment and obviously the foam is glued into place. I've tried GooGone and a few other things.

Any pro tips ?

Remove as much of the foam as possible with your preferred metal scraper, then use acetone to get the adhesive off.

Start with iso propyl alcohol/ rubbing alcohol and see if that works. If that doesn't do the trick then you will have to test out acetone or paint thinner and see if that would work. With acetone I would test a small area before doing the whole thing. Do it in open air as the fumes can get some folks dizzy, wear gloves if you don't want to have dry skin.

Go the true italian route...try olive oil with some elbow grease! Works wonders on glues. Never would have guessed when I first heard it, but it worked best when I tried it on other stuff with glue residue and labels that wouldn't come off. Now it's my preferred method. And it is way less destructive than some of these other options.

Granted, never tried it on what looks like solid dried glue like what that looks like. It works great on still sticky glues like sticker and label backing or spray mount glues like what i'd expect them to have used to get that foam on there.

I will try those as well if needed. Really appreciate it. The olive oil will smell better than GooGone, which I am fairly certain is light motor oil.

GooGone smells awful! Like moldy oranges. I don't care if it works most of the time. At least the isopropyl and acetone will give your nostrils, sinuses and braincells that nice showroom shine.
