Modern Vespa

My mother's side of the family is Marini, and as I understand it, I still have relatives in Italy, specifically Lombardy (Brescia).

Used to sell jets in the olden days.

Mine has nothing to do with Vespa.

Karlsbadd with 2 d's for no particular reason other than the regular one d was taken with my spelling on gmail so I added the second with my birthday. Yep, my grandfather came here in 1906 from Corleone.

Baba is my nickname since I was a baby & it has kinda become my defacto real name. I use it as my username on everything I have had since the 1990's.

Italy is a small country, it would not be difficult to find people on the web with relatives very close to where I live; I've already found two on MV (but I don't name for privacy).
Furthermore, surnames often indicate the areas of origin; for me, as a young man I worked around Italy and met many people, it is instinctive to understand the area of origin from the surname.

I usually go by "evildeadvespa" most everywhere. My love of Evil Dead and...you know. It was actually a scooter theme idea of mine from the 90's. It's been a long time since I've been on here and that name was "disallowed". I probably was off of here for too long, as I thought it was my old username.

rally200ks is an old aol and forum nick that I had to use due to rally200 never being available. Lol! So, added my initials.

My Rally was my first Vespa (it's an American one, and still have) and have a European Rally 200, also.

I was once on a forum for Isuzu and Chevy LUV (light utility vehicle) diesel trucks. My name there was LUVer.

On the CB750 forum it was Barnaby Wilde.

On eBay it's VBA1T. That's the model of my first Vespa. I still have it.

Vintage red is the color of my first modern Vespa. It was available for only one year. When I found this forum it requested a user name. If I knew what I was getting into I would have thought about it for more than 5 seconds but I didn't and here we are.

Attila I was referring to my Forum history of threads that fizzle and die with a whimper. I was liking hearing about how members came to their Forum names. Sadly, interest faded...

My first scoot, a Buddy 150 was bought used. It had a circular unfaded spot on the rear fender from a removed sticker. It tasked me. I was intrigued by the mod stickers but not wanting to be accused of national misappropriation, (being officially affiliated with neither Britain nor the military,) I went with the Captain America Shield as an American Roundel substitute. My nod to the Mod, if you will. Soon after my scoot came to be referred to as the Captain America bike at the local scooter shop, thus... Capscoot.

My user name is not very exciting, but I guess it provides some basic info.

Just worked out that I've been riding Vespas for 53 years and 3 months! Bought my first Vespa on my 17th birthday in Jan1968 and have been hooked ever since... not a bad life-long addiction to have.

Personally, I find myself to be a fan of your screen name choice.

Hi, my name is Guzzi Gal. GG for short.

I have a Moto Guzzi and I'm female. I use this name on Wildguzzi.com and I had my Guzzi before we added the Vespas. This wasn't the reason I chose to name my Vespa Gigi. She reminded me of Brigitte Bardot in her blond years.

I was uninspired that day. It's just my name.

Can you change them? I'm sure I can come up with something better.

Many many years ago in the advent of the interwebs, I filled out a form to get my first e-mail address. I entered (in block letters if you remember those) my last name:

The person who read it interpreted it as:

L O M U N C H I

I have a 1955 Gretsch Silverjet (6129) with a black pick guard (every other one I have seen is white). Hence blackguard.

Oh! Those are awesome guitars. Interesting about the guard. Any idea why yours is different? Was it custom, or modified, or...?
