Hi,

I restored a 63 GL back before I had kids. It has sat in the garage covered for 12 years and I want to get it running again.

I figure I am in for a new battery, carb rebuild kit and fuel tap, maybe a new plug.

What else should I be looking at ?

Back when I was restoring this, Scooter West and Scooterworks used to stock all the vintage large frame parts. Is this still the go to place to get Vespa parts in North America?

Thanks
UTC

Scooterworks is no longer a great place for vintage parts. They moved on to twist-n-go scooters and now have an incomplete and frequently "not available" collection of vintage parts.

Scooterwest remains great, as does SIP Scooter Shop out of Germany.

Awesome, thank you.

I just looked at the SIP site and man is it complicated to navigate around.

Welcome Wallaby!

You may want to check out ScooterMercato also. They usually have everything you need.

Post some pics of that GL!

You may want to invest in some new tires as well. Safety first!

Standard fluff & fold. Tap, carb kit, fuel line and necessary gaskets/rubbers. Drain the tank, lube the cables & controls. Tires & tubes. General safety check and then fire that bish off.

If it runs it runs.

May need seals. May not. Run it and see.

Mercato and Motorsport still have good quality parts at good prices. SIP and scooter center out of Germany are kick ass for top quality stuff.
