I ran across this twisted wire today in my garage and instantly thought it looks like a jacked up kickstart spring for one of the motors I recently rebuilt.

Everyone is running fine and not a single scooter shows kickstart issues. What would a missing spring result in? I'd rather leave well enough alone and chock it up to something else. I typically grease them pretty good and this sucker is bone dry but I can't recall anything it comes from.

Nope. I don't solder. I might be paranoid but it's freakin' me...one more reason it's a bad idea to sweep the garage.

Rest assured it is definitely not from a VBB or P motor! Must have been from one of your other hobbies.

Thanks for the reassurance! I have no idea what the hell it's from but as far as I can tell it's not from one of my scooters. I do have a lot of shit in my garage

I somehow doubt that was ever a spring.

looks to me like some leftover bailing wire

like the type you would use on a fence of hay bale etc

It does not look like a spring wire, If it is then why it is soft and rust-free.

It seriously looks like solder wire. Is it pliable?
