The first series Vespa 90 used a 14mm gudgeon pin. I have a new piston with a new 14mm gudgeon pin, but no bearing. Can anyone recommend where I can buy a new one?

Hi, is it a small end bearing or was it a brass bush?

First series v90 with 14mm gudgeon pin used a bushing on connecting rod small end.

Later series and all models after, like the primavera, v100, used a 15mm gudgeon pin with needle bearing on small end of connecting rod, I believe.

Unless someone bored out the small end of the con-rod and replaced with a custom bearing.

Allstyles seem to have them halfway down the page here if it is indeed a bush that you need. I guess it depends on the small end on the crank, maybe you need a different piston

I feel like a complete fool. A friend stripped his V90 engine and I had to re-assemble it. I was so used to using a small end bearing, that I (and him!) thought he had lost it in the disassembly process. And none of us checked to see if it was needed. Facepalm emoticon

All that matters is that we all found a solution! Now grab that bushing and get wrenching. Lets see a running video when you're done
