An area of the country that I'm unfamiliar with but looking forward to exploring this year as there are a few locations on this year's RRC (NW region) list in that area.

I've been to Morecambe a coupleof times on Scooter Rallies and toured the Lake District on bikes, have I missed anything in the land between?

This area is worth exploring. The whole of the Morecambe Bay coast is very scenic and a lot quieter than the Lake District. I'll take some more pictures and post them as soon as the weather warms up a bit.

I asked particularly because we attended a wedding there in 2016 for our best friends' son. He still lives there and the friends are there currently to catch up and spend time with their grand daughter. We had no idea what to expect and were really pleasantly surprised. We may well go back when the world becomes a little less insane.

Cyprus is a great place to live, English is widely spoken and the climate is great, although it got a bit too hot for me in the summer. I have great memories of riding my GTS to and from work wearing just a t-shirt and shorts....

The Shore, Silverdale.

The George Washington Pub, Warton, Lancashire. Formally The Black Bull Inn, it was renamed in the 1980's to acknowledge the ancestory of the first president of the United States. In the 14th century, Robert de Washington, a descendant of William de Wessyngton, settled here in Warton, Lancashire.

It sure is. The road on the right of the picture has a gradient of about 1 in 5 going up behind the pub to a disused quarry known as Warton Crag. You have to be in the lowest gear on the bike as you swing past the pub.

Touring 300

Great stuff. The indication is then that our first President George Washington's
family came from around Warton, Lancashire. I get a kick out of them
renaming the Pub.

I indicated in previous posts that my family came to the colonies from your
great country. That makes me your 33rd bastard cousin from across the pond.
Keep sending photos from time to time - much appreciated.

What a dilemma, you've climbed a 1 in 5 hill, you are hot sweaty and tired and there's a Ale House with attractive ladies in the garden admiring your athleticism. Do you stop for a rest or plough on?

What a beautiful photo. I wish Spring would actualize in Minnesota. I grew up
in a suburb of Minneapolis that was completely covered in Crab Apple
trees that beautifully blossom in the Spring.

Again, I really like your photo travels sharing the flavor of Jolly Old England.
I kind of wish others would do the same. We are getting some good stuff
from Australia and New Zealand.

You RAF ? I was TCW, Brize norton based Miss the days madly.

I was civi, but seconded to the RAF based at Akrotiri, it's a great place to live and work. The USAF have a presence there too, keeping an eye on the middle-eastern powers, and there's a UN peace keeping force on the island to keep hostilities at bay between the Turks and Cypriots.

Again, I really like your photo travels sharing the flavor of Jolly Old England.

The trouble is Bob Touring 300 is such a good photographer that us lesser mortals that are only capable of pointing a camera phone at our scooters and hoping for the best just can't compete.

I'll make an effort during the summer but don't expect the quality of this thread.
