This can be done with any aftermarket ignition on an early bike. i've seen some stuff posted and it's incredible to say the least. .. and not in the eye candy kind of way.

you can use the original bakelite junction box. The voltage regulator gets installed inside the chassis using the glovebox cowl screw. no need to drill extra holes or any kind of that nonsense.

I use double crimped terminals on the wires just like the originals.

hope this inspires some folks.

Looks great, do you use toothed lock washers under ground bolts? I've used them on other projects and use them on my scooters and motorcycles. I've had great grounds 0.064 ohms with a high end fluke meter, that allows you to zero the leads resistance out on. I pulled the ground connection, added a toothed washer that digs in. I had my battery voltage go from 12.8 to 13.5 with nothing more than the added washer.

It is inspiring Gick - thank you! I'll be doing this to the 62 Allstate next time I pull the tank. I've been wanting to run a CHT gauge wire, which seems like the perfect time to move the regulator.

Thanks for the pics!

Yupp, those washers are definitely necessary, I chased my tail the other day when I replaced a rear indicator and couldn't get it to work, it was due to me throwing the rusty lock washer out and replacing it with a new fender washer.
