Greetings:

What make of variator? Malossi uses different dimensions from Stock Piaggio unit. Yes, you can mix roller weights, but the heavier weights will wear faster than the lighter ones. I recommend you measure your roller weight dimensions first - length and girth. Then if you can go online and order a set of 9g, 10g, and 11 gram weights and install to test.

I used a stock piaggio variator. I think it's a good idea to mix weights. Thank you very much.

9g rollers and a white or yellow contra spring. Red is too strong. Got a BBK? If you buy the Malossi variator set, it has a matched contra spring. I think the guys at Malossi have already done the testing for you.

Greetings:

If rollers are expensive or not easy to find, then mixing weights you have is fine. They may not last as long and balancing is tricky because the tracks are not precisely symmetric. Good luck!

Without the red contra spring. Mixing weights will give you about 9.6 grams which is close to stock 10g.
You need about 8.5g.

I am not sure there is a red spring for ET4. Bin it.
