This morning after riding my bike the 4km to work the engine stalled at idle as I was rolling it into the parking space. The oil light has come on too but there is plenty oil.

Generally when the Oil light comes on it has to do with oil pressure. If you say there is oil then you may have a bad oil pressure sensor.
Also I would search the forum as others have had a similar problem and there is a solution to fix the problem.

I think it's actually an oil pressure light, not and oil level light. When the engine shuts off (or stalls) the oil pressure goes to zero (which it should) and the light will come on. Nothing to worry about. If it comes on while you are riding, power off immediately. You ruin the engine. Your engine needs the oil pressurized to get oil to all the engine's moving parts. the friction of all the moving parts will heat the engine up that parts start to melt. Many of us check the engine oil level before most rides. YMMV.

Also, the oil light comes on when you turn the key to the on position but should go off after a few seconds once the engine starts.
