Ive posted this in the not so modern, yes its an auto but these scooters were a nod to the old Vespa PK. The short lived LML Star Lite.

Now i believe they were short lived purely as LML collapsed. What a great pity. I was extremely fond of my P125 ETS (PK). Back in the day i have a PX200 for long hauls and the smaller frame PK was brilliant for flying around town on, the ETS had a top speed of 62mph. I was gearing up to buy a Star Lite until i got news of troubles at LML and potential collapse. Of course they did collapse.

You can buy brand new unregistered Star Lites on ebay in the UK. They look nice, have the raised comfy seat on too for taller folk and will also reach a top speed or around 60 when loosened up.

My question to you the forum is, would you be mad to buy one now? As the factory no longer makes parts, is there anybody out there who has got hold of the factory tooling, are there any third party manufacturers out there producing parts? I see that SIP have various bits and bobs in stock, such as drive belts, automatic clutch bells etc. If it were a bog standard LML Star 2 stroke, its not an issue as most piaggio stuff interchangeable.

What is the consensus about getting one? Worth the risk? 2k for brand new scooter that actually looks a like a vespa is really cheap.

Here is an ebay add to the picture posted. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LML-Lite-125-scooter-small-frame/392710249683?hash=item5b6f5adcd3:g:26MAAOSw8kVdhR8G

Its an auto cvt engine? The star 4t auto cvts suck. Lots of engine problems and parts are scarce and not cheap, although you do have pretty much the only place to buy those parts near you.. tassoparts.co.uk.

I would pass on any lml auto cvt engine bike. Not worth the time or effort. Although if that was a 2 stroke engine in there I would totally get one!

Well, thanks for the info. Im actually leaning towards a Royal Alloy 200 as my second plaything. Keep the PX and get something new to play with. OK, its made in china and it will never have the same kudos as a GTS with the vespa name on it, but however much I try, i just do not like the Vespa GTS shape and style and the RA looks so nice. So all these Star Lites and Star Autos are being sold online with the buyers not having a bloody clue what they are letting themselves in for. I guess this is the case too for the 4 speed manual 4T LML Star too?

Maybe people on your side of the pond have better luck with the lml 4t autos, but over here they are few and far between and generally basket cases. No one sells parts for them here and the only place I could find parts for it were Tasso in UK. I had one for 6 months and was constantly working on it. For the amount of effort in response to the lackluster ride it was, not worth it.

If you are looking for an auto I'd go for the RA. I'd do the same if I wanted to get an auto cvt scooter. They just look better than modern auto vespas.
