Finally got around to finishing the two last housekeeping tasks on this small frame:

1. Finally got it registered. It was missing title and out of state registration. I got the original owner to fill out all the necessary documents to get it registered without title in NYS. I should have a title in the mail in the next 4 weeks! It is relatively easy to get these vespas with missing titles registered in NYS as long as they are older than 25 years and you have all the necessary documents filled out, and obviously the bike isn't stolen. I'm sure other states are much more difficult, but I do not understand people going the Vermont registration route in NYS when there is a process to get a title when it is missing in this state.

2. When I solved the stator issue, I rewired it with about 4" of extra wiring for each color to make sure I had enough. I've been driving around with the junction box cover off and the wires open to elements with tons of excess wiring just flopping around next to the cylinder shroud.

Today was the day I had time to get the stator back off, and add a length of heat sheath protection to the wires coming out the back of the stator plate, and then cut the wires to correct length so they all fit inside the junction box with lid on and the rubber caps on the junction box. Finally looks complete to match the completeness of its running condition.

It idles great, and plug looks good. BTW.. I've gotten it up to about 52mph on a straightaway tucked thanks to losing 30 lbs in the last 6 months!

Now that I'm actually using it and riding around, I've realized I need a spare oil can carrier. I am hoping to find something kindof like this MRP one for 10" rims, but for the 4 lug nut 10" rim spare tire holder.

Anyone got ideas or know of a product for 8" spare tire holder?

I'm wondering if this bracket, mounted behind the 4 lug 10" spare tire mount would fit and the bottles be accessible behind a mounted spare tire? I think they may, since the spare tire holder positions the tire out away from the tunnel, and these jerry can holders look like they lower it down flush with the tunnel. This would be a backup option. I would prefer middle of spare tire mounted. I may try to fabricate something to work with it.
