On my new GTS 300HPE after a long run [over 100 miles] and park up a noise comes from the engine. It sounds like an animal cry every 10 seconds and goes on for 30 minutes. I know because it has happened before and I have timed it. The strange thing is, that it doesn't happen if the petrol tank is about three quarters full, only when there are 2 bars showing on the gauge. If I take the filler cap off, it stops, but there is a strong whiff of petrol, so that could be dangerous. Put it on again and the crying, as I call it, begins again. I have never known anything like this happening on any of the 3 other GTS's I have had. It is obviously, to me anyway, a petrol breather problem. So before I contact Vespa, has any other HPE owner have the same problem.

Cheers
