Hey Mitch! I don't have anything to add to this thread, but it's good to see you around. I see you pop up on YouTube now and again, always a treat.
Same here!
Not fun trying to weld rusted-out 22ga plate, though. Follow Greasy's advice!

The only Italian I've learned from his many videos is "In questa modo."
"This is the way you do it."

Sorry guys, quick question..

Someone mentioned above the frame being full of "bondo"

Would that be the equivalent of what we call here "bog" or "nicky" (body filler)?
You got it! Bondo is brand name for a popularized cheap plastic body filler.
Thanks man..

Geez I don't know what the big deal is. About the GS160 for sure - fattest bum of the lot and a sick bike. Awesome score.

But about the rust. To me it just looks like a floor and rear well needs a patch. Surely... even before blasting... cut the floor off and have a better look inside. You know the floor is toast so has to come off anyway. But leave the paint on otherwise - the rest of the bike looks pretty mint. You might be able to replace and blend... the white is a good colour to hide that.

To me it looks like they did a pretty decent resto - but didn't properly rust treat the work. And it got wet.

Ps - the replacement floor I got from SIP is made by a small Italian family business. It's awesome that these parts are still being made, and often by smaller players all over the place.
