Hello!

I recently sold my first MP3 and bought a second one, a 2008 400ie with beautiful dark blue paint. On my previous machine, I kept side bags on it most of the riding season and ended up damaging the paint underneath. I don't want that to happen this time.

What do you use to protect the paint when you put on side bags? (I have soft bags, Firstgear Silverstone).

Thank you!

Maybe try shelf liner? Self sticking thick vinyl. Inexpensive, easy to cut to shape.

Could put a layer or two anywhere you think there will be contact.

Hadn't thought of of that! Thanks for the idea.

I was doing some YouTubing on the subject and there's a 3M protection film that looks like it could work, and it's clear. Just needs soapy water to stick it on.
