An 2014 mp 400 that seem to have the all the body panels take off has come up for sale where I live. . I m going to assume there is missing fastener etc . The seat seem to be 1/2 off ? It's sat around for 5 years. They want 2500 but I think it's worth about a grand . It's not a minor project . Tires , gas tank , fuilds and the panels . I should ad no there is not battery so you can't start it . What do you guys think ?

Holy cow! I'd never consider something like that! But I hate projects and never finish them. You can bring any battery to see if it starts. If you have a scooter or motorcycle just pull your battery before checking it out. But I wonder WHY its all torn apart?

Do they have info on why its all torn apart or why what happened that they just parked and left it for 5 years? It almost looks like you'd get more value as parts unless you plan on making a labor of love to restore it. Mp3 parts aren't cheap.

I see no true reason to buy this except you have another one lacking parts which are fine on this one.

Well, OK, another reason is to disassemble it for parts and sell them separately.

The reason given was a tip over then took the panels off to get redone. Then he went I so wanking screwed . I don't remember how I took it apart. Only reason I consider buying it is because they still cost 3500 plus since everyone know a vespa is worth more money . Clown emoticon . ( thats no a putt down before anyone trys to put me in my place. ) The only other reason for winter and fall since I tend to ride year round . It's not because it's a vespa but 3 wheels. I never buy anything that I can hear turn over. No turn over and it's 500 bucks .

Facepalm emoticon Foolish waste of a good machine. Doesn't look like it was even covered for several of those 5 years

Body panels aren't difficult to to put back on if you've done it a few times.

If he has the keys and the title. If you can lay it all out and verify that all of the major components are still there. And after taking a close look at the front end. Hard to tell from the picture but looks like the front frame might be bent. Front cowl in two pieces? If he hit something hard there could be expensive damage. Plus tires and fluids and anything else that succumbed to being left in the weather.

Might be a worthwhile project if you can get it for cheap.

I bet they bought it at an auction and intended to repair it until the parts prices came into the picture. I wonder if the title is salvage or it has an accident claimed in the VIN history. If its the original owner they should have both keys. No master key is always a bad thing to me.

Oh! that reminds me. I'm still operating with a one and only key. I was supposed to get a spare made this winter.

Where is this barn beauty located?

Maybe someone with MP3 experience is local to you and could help you evaluate it.

I am not a mechanic nor assessor but from the pictures, it is not worth as a project for financial reasons, but for a hobby (where you don't care about cost) it could be your thing. The only way to buy it is: if you need parts and you find them in this scooter and they will be worth more than what you will pay for this, also to check if the parts you need can be used and in great condition, otherwise, buy them from the market and stay away.
Good luck
