I had my bike out on Friday, took it for it's annual MOT, all good, nice ride out etc, got home, parked it up, all well and good.
Nice day so nothing better than a few miles on the scoot, wheeled it out, key in ignition, turned it on and DEAD.
Nothing, everything is dead, no horn, no lights, nothing.
I think I need some help , FAST.
Any idea's, please shout.
I can't believe a battery can go from standing for 3 months and starting the engine without hassle to completely dead over 24hrs.
Anyone else suffered this?
I got into it via the back door - not unknown to MP3 owners - dropped the jump leads on to my car and it started like a good 'un. Leaving it running at moment but a new battery is called for, me thinks, I don't want to be in this position again.
Side note, I also stapled on a grab handle for the rear of the seat, because I found it awkward to hold up the seat to unlock and lift it. Think I might fit a balancing spring in to give it a slight lift when using the fob so it doesn't keep dropping shut, anyway, back up and running, panic over.

I had a battery short internally once. It was working fine one minute and done the next. I had been running errands all morning, multiple stops and starts with decent runs in between, nothing out of the ordinary, then i went to start it after one stop and... nothing. Couldn't even jump it.
Its rare but it does happen. New battery and all was well.
Well, it's a quandary, after I got it running with a jump, I left it for 20mins just ticking over, then took it for a 1 hour ride, about 30 miles locally, got home ok. Just as I arrived at home the engine light came on, oh dear, more trouble.
Switched it off and went inside, came out an hour later and switched the bike on, no odd lights, started without a problem.
Think I ought to change the battery anyway.
It's having a full service this week, ready for a ride to Portugal, it's 1200 kms to my brother's house and I'd rather not have 'road trouble' on the way.
New tyres are scheduled on Tuesday
