Nicely spotted! I am guessing that has been broken for... well, years. Many years. I've just pushed a fix. Thanks for the heads up!

I believe it. Portugal is very attractive and my wife and I are seriously considering relocating there post-retirement.

On the new since last visit page if there is more than one page and I click on page two it says "not found".

I don't have enough in my "new since last visit" list to see a second page. How about the other variations on those special categories: Favorites, Topics Started and Topics Replied To? Do you see the same problem there?

Agreed and much relieved. Your word choice was much kinder than mine would have been.

On topics started and topics replied to if I click on previous or any other page number I get the same "not found" message.

I don't have more than one page of favorites.

A little while ago my browser was not loading the forum, I got worried about the recent problems but then I had the intuition.
My antivirus (Eset NOD 32) simply considered MV an unwanted and potentially dangerous forum, I had to manually skip it from the antivirus list.
I wonder what triggered the lockout.

PS: I have reason to suspect that some problems at the forum are just an excuse to have Jess among us more often.

I have looked in the warning notes but it does not specify the reason, I believe it was interpreted as spam ...
In fact, my antispam protection is set to the highest level; anyway, in two weeks I'll take the pc to do the annual review and upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10.

My guess, it was the lack of a TLS cert.

Works for me. I get to see the previous or any other pages, both at the top of the page and with the selector at the bottom.

Which is a bit daft, as a TLS cert means fuck-all in terms of freedom from malware (which is what an anti-virus should be looking for) - it merely helps prevent a man-in-the-middle attack. So important for banking etc, and almost meaningless for sites like MV.

Which is why the TLS cert wasn't high on my priority list. Don't get my wrong, I think the privacy aspects of TLS are of utmost importance -- but there's very little about posting in a public scooter forum that warrants that level of security or privacy.

Alas, Google forced the issue by flagging everything as insecure. And sadly, people just kind of accepted it without really considering whether it was appropriate.

Yep, it can be a real PITA and for something like a scooter forum you really don't need the same level of security as say a financial institution.

In fact I had to force the antivirus block manually, nothing bad but it is good that you know in case it happens to others.

I found the bug. It was there the whole time. Not sure why I didn't see it before -- I will claim fatigue here.

I haven't pushed it to the server yet, as I'm still testing some related changes. But I do appreciate you pointing it out.

Not sure if it's a bug, but I just noticed that the Next button, part of the page links at the top of the subforums isn't playing nice. I get a "Not Found. The requested URL was not found on this server." error when I click on it. Same behavior on General Discussion, Not So Modern and MP3 Discussion subforum pages.

Browsing with Chrome version 87.0.4280.101 from an Android phone.

If it's a false flag, my apologies. I do need to update the browser.

Addendum: I can replicate it on a Windows desktop running Chrome version 90.0.4430.93. Noted one other thing:

If I just click the 2 box, I get this URL:
Quote:
https://modernvespa.com/forum/forum2?start=50
But if I click Next, I get this URL:
Quote:
https://modernvespa.com/forum/forum2&start=50
I also noticed the same behavior from the Previous button when it's available.

Yep! This has been reported and a fix is in the works. I would have pushed it to the server already, but it's connected to a bunch of other changes that need more bake time.

Thanks for the report.

I have a Samsung 10. No problems yet. Everything is working seamlessly. However I usually bypass the shortcuts and write my BBCode from scratch. All my surfing is from my cellphone. No computers here. I hope that helps. Thanks Jess.
