On Wednesday, I will travel to Tucson (~110 miles) to a Vespa dealership there to pick up a Giallo Estate (aka yellow) GTS300 Super. Yay! Why not the local dealer, you ask? They haven't had a white / yellow GTS since I've been looking. I will use the local dealer for service, however.
Bulger, my white GTS250 Super, will move to Prescott, AZ where it is badly needed.

I am syched! pictures to follow

I'll take pics tomorrow. I'm jackeed. It's a lot of money for me, but I'm worth it.

You are worth it! Why don't you come out to dine with us on Friday or breakfast on Saturday? The Valley hasn't gotten hot yet.

A New in Vespa in my Future
Interesting.... I live in the Tucson Area (ORO Valley), andI just completed the purchase of a 2012 GTV 300 touring model in Scottsdale. I'm going to motor vehicle tomorrow to get the title transferred and get temporary tags. We're leaving for a long weekend (flying) on Thursday, returning next Tuesday. Then I have to figure how I'm going to get it back down here (may just ride it).

On any Moto has a guy that transports scooters, but he's quite expensive.

The GTV has only 2500 miles, and was maintained at Go AZ Scottsdale. I'm, going to be starting another thread to discover if there is anything I should inspect/service before the ride. I intend to stay off of I10 and take 60 to Globe and then down.

Ron,

Congrats to you too! Have you heard of the Sky Island Riders? If not, check them out, they're a nice bunch of scooter folk.

New Vespa
Yes, I saw it on CL about 30 minutes after it was posted. I texted the seller and made arrangements to look it it today, and asked if he wanted a deposit. He said that he'd had 3 calls on it after my initial call so I wired a deposit. I drove up to Scottsdale today.

The GTV was really clean - one small ding on one side case - and only 2500 miles. I've got to do some work at Motor Vehicle tomorrow to transfer the title and registration as the taks on the GTV had expired. I also need to get a more detailed maintenance history to determine if the fluids have been recently changed (the seller knows that not in the past two years). All the service was done at Go AZ and the seller thinks they'll be able to provide the information.

My last Vespa was a 1965(?) SS 2-stroke with a 4-speed manual trans, no battery, and magneto power.

More to come, along with more photos. I'll also post a bit of my journey to this scoot after a 40-year lay-off from riding.[/img]

Vespa GTV
Guzzi Gal:

Yes, I connected with Howard, and hope to take some of their rides as I work any kinks out of the GTV.

I'm intrigued by your handle. My last 2-wheel vehicle before I stopped riding was a '79 Moto Guzzi Le Mans

The Le Mans is a sexy bike! If you click on my signature photo, the one at the bottom of all my posts, you can see my V7 III Aniversario. I bought her from Dave Richardson Of Moto International, about a month before he retired.

Ron, I got to On Any Moto about 10:30-ish, left about 1pm. Great shop, I think they will treat you well, especially if you're not way east Tucson. Here's my first pic - it's yellow, and he shall be called Heinz.

Sunrider would have been a good one, but since it looks like mustard, Heinz it is!

Since all the fluids in a GTS/GTV except possibly the rear hub oil should be changed at least every two years anyway - I'm not sure how much more information you actually need.
