That is VERY expensive for a 3rd brake light. Besides, it sort of defeats the purpose of a 3rd high mounted brake light due to the relatively low location of the license plate.

I use the SHAD 3rd brake light, and installed perfectly in the light of sight of drivers following me onto the original Piaggio luggage rack for the top case since SHAD is the supplier to Piaggio.

I bought the SHAD light on Amazon.

Thanks! My new-to-me MP3 has the top case and rack, so this looks like a better option.

Do you happen to know what the part number for that is? I can't seem to find one like it online.

2 different extra brake lights,

the Volo uses a sensor when your slowing down to activate with out touching a brake lever.

the shad light is tied into your existing brake wiring to activate when applying your brakes.

Got it. Thanks, OAD. The sensor type was what I was looking for. Thanks for the clarification.

Sensor or not, but a light that sits that low to the ground is not going to pull someone's attention as much as a bright light that hits them dead in the eye.

Anyway, here is a eBay link to a SHAD light.

you can mount it higher up, it DOESN't HAVE to go at the license plate.

mount it on the bottom portion of the top case and put a Vanity plate in it, great for swapping top case between multiple rides.

Oh, that's an idea! How would you go about mounting it, if you don't mind my asking? I wouldn't want to drill holes in the top case.

I don't see where you possibly mount that thing without interfering with the handle/lock.

And if you did, you would probably have to leave the top case attached permanently.

One more thing, the pic shows a older gen MP3. Don't know if SHAD was the OE supplier to Piaggio for those earlier gens. I am more familiar with the 3rd gen (current) MP3 variant (see pic below).

The Lovely Wife (tm) had the vololight on her mp3 and it currently resides on her BV350. I think it is okay. Not great, but okay. She has lighting on her top case that helps. I don't remember where the power comes from for the vololight, but it wasn't difficult.

I have this on the back of my Honda.
https://admorelighting.com/product/admore-smt-light-bar-small/

Its a bit more money and ties into the brake/signal wiring. I think it is more noticeable. I have it mounted to the underside of the top case base. It was the first and only thing I've wired to the Honda, thus, I broke some clips making it happen.

$134 for a 3rd brake light (Admore)??? Is this a joke???

You guys must be smoking something you probably shouldn't be.

The SHAD light is available for $100 less, does the same thing, and integrates perfectly with the factory rack mount.

I'd rather spend the $100 on a replacement Piaggio drive belt.

To each his own, my friend. I want God and Country to know I'm stopping.

And, to be clear, the shad light doesn't have programmable flashing or turning indicator.

Anyone know whether the SHAD light will fit into my GIVI rear bag?
It looks like a universal brake light that can mount into my GIVI as well.

No a shad fitted light will not work in a Givi top case like the one in the pics you posted.

my post is not false a SHAD kit light WILL NOT bolt into a GIVI top case.

there is a GIVI kit light available for a GIVI top case but that is not what the poster was asking.

But the SHAD light will mount with little to no modification underneath the shelf of the luggage rack regardless of brand as it is a pretty universal device.

Every one of my rides starts in the dark. Every one. So I really like my admore led brake light. ...mounted under the OEM topcase on.my Liberty150i. Even in the 'resting' (DRL) mode....it is very noticeable and well up in the driver's vision. Worth every penny.
