There may be those who are surprised by me writing anything related to "clean", but here goes. Seems to be the key to something...

Anyway, the first step in cleaning anything should be pretty obvious, and it turns out I'm pretty good at it.

Step 1. Get it durty. That isn't mis-spelled. You really need to get it nasty, otherwise it's so easy to clean as to beg the question "why bother". And my tolerance for nasty windshields is pretty clear. OK, not clear at all, and that's the point.

Step 2. Ignore the dirty condition for a year or so. Let it ferment, or do whatever it is that dirt, bug guts, and the occasional small bird does to the surface of whatever it is mashed into.

Step 3. Have someone tell you it's time to clean that. Or even better, let them try. This has been my go-to for several years now.

Step 4. Someone may come along and suggest cleaning your windshield is the key to some form of happiness. Ignore them, they are in fact crazier than you are. But that's probably why you like them so what the heck, grab a spray bottle of your favorite flavor 80-proof and some soft cloths and go for it.

Step 5. The actual cleaning process. If I have to describe this, congratulations! But no, you'll have to youtube it. Sorry.
Before. It's sort of hard to tell but it's in my garage.

After, from the same perspective.

After, again, showing off a now-legible sticker I'm rather proud of.

So if I'm guessing, our host has made it so the key to whatever is to do something you haven't done for a very long time.
I think it was (OK, is) pretty well known I have a penchant for dirty windshields, so my task was to clean one of mine.

Now I'm wondering what everyone else has to do. Laughing emoticon

mine is finding the time to do stuff to the scooters, lately I have been a handyman go to person for sister-in-law and a few others for the last 3 months in addition to the honey-do man as well. that is about to come to a halt.
I need to do some scooter/motorcycle love maintenance on the herd.

Nice work! And see, it earned you the Molto Verboso badge. MV-Bot must have been satisfied with your cleaning job.

So, I seem to have followed your method for cleaning the windshield on Sofia. It was good and dirty because she was used daily and cleaned occasionally, windshield included.
The windshield is now very clean so prospective buyers can see through it.
