I'm a bit of a Vespa only type, plus they have to come with go-faster stripes..
My first bike, never did sell it.
Second one, same age as me, a fine vintage, didnt sell it either
New country new bike, onto modern Vespas, didnt sell it either..
Latest bike, continuing with the Super Sport theme + last one undergoing a bit of an update..

A LOT of us have more than just scooters, many even have a Vespa or two some even know how to use a shifty! I think a lot of people drawn to Vespa and this site have a love of motorbikes in general. To me with motorbikes I find it hard to have just one. So while I have about enough money invested in motorbikes that I could have a Porsche 911 I'd rather have 3 beautiful rides to choose from when I go down to the garage. Plus the Ural has more storage space...

I would also like to have more than one but here in Italy you are obliged to pay insurance and annual property tax for each. It is already expensive to pay for a scooter and a car ....

Same here, no discount on insurance even though I can't possibly ride all 3 at once. I don't even ask how much I pay but my accountant assures me it isn't cheap.

There is one exception but with tax restrictions: owning vintage vehicles.
Here you can have up to three vintage vehicles (cars or scooters / motorbikes) before returning to the tax authorities which cross-reference the data on your income with the "estimated expense" on maintaining them.
With only one (reduced) insurance you can insure three but drive only one at a time and only the owner can drive it; the annual property vehicle tax is symbolic (EUR 11) or zero and depends on the region you live in.
Two-wheeled vehicles must be over twenty years old and be included in special lists and / or checked by traveling commissions that issue a certificate and, for better restored vehicles, also a gold-colored metal plate with vehicle data and a number registration in a national historical register.
For cars the same thing happens but they must be more than thirty years old from the first registration.
The control overhaul of the bodywork and mechanics is done every two years at few authorized workshops.

here is my herd, all Italian but the first member the Chinese pink scooter. The Scarabeo is sort of hiding. Some are in great shape and some need to be completely repainted but I got them all cheap because of the damage. When I got the GTS with dents 4 years ago I thought let me put some of my own in. 4 years later hardly a scratch was put there by me. All of them are that way. The one missing from the shot is the ET4 that was headed to work with my housemate. When ever I see her ride away all I can think is "does this scooter make my ass look big" My answer to myself is no its a perfect fit.

Sorry, didn't mean to show off. It is a purpose-built Man Cave excavated under the back of my house, aside from the concrete slab I did all the rest. It is great to have an orderly space to call my own.

I may have "tidied-up" just before the photo...

Hi Johnny. I have been through three scooters which are no longer. This is what remains now.

I am very curious to hear your report on the 1100 dct. I feel for me the engine would be too big for what my present day riding is (my BV is a commuter, but I use it for fun as it's the only scooter I own and yes, I love it). But, I fantasize about taking road trips from NJ to DC/VA, NJ to VT, and if Honda came out with a DCT Rebel in 750 or something closer, I'd be a lot more tempted... Still. Do send updates once rcvd!

I don't keep a "herd" of PTWs anymore. I found that when I had more than one, I would ride my favorite and the others would all be neglected (not ridden). Now I just let my old chopper hang-out with other old bikes owned by friends so it's not lonely.

Greetings to Cambridgeshire
It is tough not to congratulate everyone on their two wheeled herd.

Pepy27,

That Lambretta and the color combination is magnificent.

Will do but at the rate the dealer is getting the manual model I want it could be a while before I get it!

This may be my first post. Just picked up this GTS to keep my Stella company in the garage. I am approaching the 600 mi initial service.

Lots of good looking scoots on here.
