What is everyone getting for mileage on City Grips before they need replacement? I have 6500 miles on the rear and here is a pic.

I can't recall an exact number, but I was pretty happy to have gotten over 5K on the rear with my GTV.

Maximum 10,000 km or 12,000 km (6500 mi. - 7500 mi.) or four years.

I've been getting 7500-8K on the rear City Grips, so I think it pretty close to normal.
On my current Pirelli Angels, I've got about 2200 miles on them with 1/3 of the original full tread depth depleted on the rear, about 19% from the front. I'll likely run the angels the first 2-3 days of Cannonball, and then swap our to the new CG2's I have. |

I came up just shy of 6K, but then again I'm bigger than average, if that translates to wear...

I get around 6-7K on a rear City Grip, but my experience with scooters is that tire life is very much dependent on riding style. More hard acceleration and braking - fewer miles.

those are all good numbers when you ride 35-50-65 miles at a time and done, try riding 300 miles a day in and day out and see what you get?
Also factors are easy peasy riding 35-50 mph , you get great mileage. riding hard in twisty's mileage drops road conditions, smooth good asphalt gets you great mileage, Georgia grainy roads cuts your life in half Also consider your weight , lighter riders get better mileage than those who tip the scales higher. for those whom are trying to judge for the upcoming cannonball, I don't remember anyone going the distance on 1 rear tire. |

2000 miles on the rear of an MP3 and won't last another 2000.
The fronts look fine. Commuting back and forth to work mostly. Maybe I push it harder than some?

I JUST had to replace my rear tire yesterday. (Rivet)
It had 3k plus miles. It was a City Grip original, I got my replacement on Amazon...City Grip 2 We'll see. Odometer at 42k plus a few hundred miles. I ride in the desert climate of Phoenix, the few times in the rain they performed fine. |

On my Burgman 400 the City Grip gave up the ghost 1500 miles sooner than the Shinko before it that cost half the price of the michelin. 5,200 miles was all this was worth.

8,400 miles. I was conservative, could have got maybe another 1,000, but I was due for a warrant of fitness test and didn't want to risk failing it on my tyres. I do virtually all my braking with the front brake, engineering it so that both tyres wear out at about the same time. Replaced with City Grip 2 - we'll see how they go.

The greater weight of the scooter and also of the riders affect the greater wear of the tires.

About 8k miles for me, but riding style influences the mileage you get a lot. I ride fairly aggressively in town riding to stay ahead of the afray. Also, riders who tend to use just the rear brake most of the time tend to wear out the rear much faster. I use both brakes evenly most of the time so it spreads the load. I cruise fast, corner moderately fast and ride a variety of road types. Fronts last me around 11k miles.
I've just put a new CityGrip 2 on the rear but I went for a higher speed rating than standard. It's a slightly heavier construction but is perfectly compatible with the standard CityGrip1 on the front. It should, I'm told, last longer than the CityGrip1 standard tyre. We'll see! |

I've got over 9k miles on my tires. Pictured is my rear and my front actually has more tread. I hate these tires for how I ride, but if you are someone who rides for leisure or just back/forth to work, these are perfect. I like to corner and these are just too slick.

I ride like I stole, I mean I even hop curbs and drag knees through bends, WOT all the time basically. And the scooter is modified quite a bit with BBK, cam, etc basically everything one can do to this poor scooter I've done.
It's an LX78 now with big awesome power. I get 3k miles from a rear, 6k from a front. I use the scooter daily in city traffic. |

I don't use anything else but City grips. I tried to stay away from the power pure. CG have never let me down.

~5,500 miles on Michelin City Grips on the rear with a lot of riding in city traffic with hard acceleration. Also: much of it on bad roads.

I've got almost 6k on my Beo 500ie's rear City Grip, with barely any noticeable wear. But that's a 14" tire compared to the Vespa S150's 10" - so that should be 40% more mileage, and maybe more if larger tires are proportionally thicker/wider than smaller tires.

After 66 years on 2 wheels---400 or so tires used---I like rear to wear round on edges and to get good mileage---Power Pure SC, wore round on my Burgman 400 and rear lasted 11,000 miles on return trip from Alaska---balancing aide--Ride On. They worked well on my SilverWing 600's, too. Right now using Heidenau on my 2019 kymco 300i----fine tire high quality nice riding/handling. I have experience with Heidenau in the DDR days on my MZ's.
I do own tire work---get older, you need longer tire irons. |

3500-4000 miles on rear City Grips on a 2019 GTS. My front still looks pretty good at 12k miles.
