Well folks I'm just about at the 500 mile dr180 breakin point , should finish tomorrow. Everything is going well except for an annoying rattle/vibration I'm getting from the headset which I'll pull headlite tomorrow to explore.

I want to know what is the ideal clutch upgrade for my stock gearing? 63 vbb . Once I get jetting dialed in I will be doing more 2up riding with the wife, so I think this is a fair upgrade .

If you're going to do a lot of 2-up riding, I'd leave the clutch well enough alone.

If it slips, you could put stiffer springs in it, maybe, but that's about it. There just aren't many upgrade options for the six spring clutch that I'm aware of.

I have the six spring clutch in my SprintV motor and have never had any issues with it, and I'll guarantee it's putting out more power than your VBB

Thanks Chandler so there are stiffer springs available. I'm working on a small order for a mirror and a few small maintenance parts probably from Sip , any idea on these heavier springs?

Chris went with a Pinasco 7 spring clutch for his 64 Allstate. Minor mod to the engine case and clutch cover were needed.

I went with a LML 7 spring clutch, which I haven't put in yet. I'm planning on it very, very soon.

Chris's clutch is working great, but then again, so is my old clutch with new plates/springs/bushing.

Scott mine is actually working well right now as well , recall someone saying the clutch cover or maybe the casing had to be trimmed down a bit for the 7 spring clutch. I put Chandlers spring suggestion in the cart for now until I decide , I'm going to keep walking up and down the isles until I get all the intelligence I need to make a decision. Laughing emoticon

Still not decided on the mirror , I think I was waiting for your input on the mirrors you and Chris got for your bikes, I had asked about them if you can please follow back to the mirror to short thread?
I'm learning ( slowly ) not to bounce a conversation from topic over to topic.
