Hello everyone.. I just joined, one day after taking delivery of a lovely red GTS 300. I have a question relating to windscreens: I ride daily and want the best touring screen for the job. Looking at the Faco Twin and the Ermax which looks like it gives good all-round cover. Any experience with the Ermax? I saw a thread on the Faco. Any other suggestions? I'm 5' 9" tall. Thanks!

Welcome Graham and congratulations on your new GTS. I can't speak to the two screens you mentioned, but I have the stock screen that comes with the touring model. It comes up to 8" above the top of the light. I'm 6'5" so I don't expect anything I would have on my bike to keep the wind off my face. I did take it off for a while and could really feel the difference on my chest area. Good luck; I hope you can find what you are looking for.

Welcome to MV, golden-graham!
I have the stock tall that came with my '13 Touring, but the OP cut it down a bit. It is earblastingly loud and makes the front end all twitchy and squirrely in the slightest breeze. My husband has a flyscreen on his and he doesn't have any issues, but I say he's def. For reference, I'm 5'5". ⚠️ Last edited by Guzzi Gal on UTC; edited 1 time

Welcome! Where do you live? I live in Connecticut and ride many days, but definitely not daily. With the temperatures here below or close to freezing much of the winter, I've found the Vespa tall screen (treated with Rain X for plastic) to be a good option for the GTS. If you live in Vegas, for example, the tall screen would likely be unnecessary overkill, though. As I was driving home today (it's been warmer), I started to think a medium screen would be a good idea; I use a fly screen during the hot summer now, but it's puny.

I'm 5'11" and the Faco twin does a good job but is still a touch too short extended to provide the "cocoon" of silence . Still it does a pretty good job of taking the wind off the chest and provided decent coverage in the rain. The real upside is it can go down and that is how I prefer my screens. The only tall screens I like are on the BMW bikes I've owned as they can be raised and lowered on the fly simply using a thumb button.

I am also 5'9". I have the Vespa brand mid-height screen on my GTS. It is just the right height for me. I can see just over the top of the plastic and the screen deflects air flow just over my helmet. It is wide enough to protect my hands and torso. Everything a screen should do IMO. I previously had a Faco twin screen. I did not like it. It was too narrow, hard to clean, and the mechanical hardware which adjusted height and locked it in place were somewhat flimsy. One of the screw-on fasteners and accompanying washers fell off during a ride.

Hi, I'm 5'10" and have the Vespa brand mid-height screen. Agree with Dooglas above. This was the only screen available to me that gave some hand protection from the wind, which was important to me. It's the right height to see over, cuts the direct wind blast off my torso, but is noisier than no screen. I only fit it for the winter because of the noise. Incredibly easy to fit and remove - 1 minute.

Welcome from Latina, central Italy.
I don't have a Vespa but the value of the windshield on it can enhance its sportiness, the intermediate height model I see is the favorite. I on my scooter "alien to the forum" in the summer I want to feel the air on my body (the only drawback is the insects) and therefore I mount an almost non-existent windshield. |

I have a full size OEM vespa screen on my 300 super. I first bought it when I bought my vespa in 2012 in the fall of that year. At the time I was living full time in the Chicago area. riding in the cold weather near the lake the wind would just freeze me, especially my hands, even when wearing warm gear. I bought the screen and by protecting me from the wind especially my hands as the screen also blocks the wind from your hands was great. I also used it in the summer as we have lots of bugs in the summer and it shielded me from them, as could be seen by all the bugs on the screen after a ride. I am now spending most of my time in AZ so the other issues of cold and bugs likely not to be much of an issue, but so far I have left the screen on.....at least for now.

5'9" - I have a Faco mid-height wind screen on mine. It is just a bit short for me, puts the bulk of the wind blast low enough on my helmet that it is loud. I put a Laminar Lip on the top of that screen; I experimented with the height before making the attachment permanent. What a difference! Quiet, no buffeting, and I can still see over the top of it.

Welcome from The Salt Lake Valley in Utah.
I like the Vespa mid size screen. I have had other brands but like the OEM best. |

I decided to order an Isotta screen from SIP. It's medium height and works really well. I'm going to try an adjustable wind-deflector just to get an extra inch or two to send the air over the helmet. Good fittings but no instructions!

I have a Cuppini windshield that was cut down to about six inches in height. It's perfect for my needs.
