Finally got my 250ie on the neighborhood road a little but after the fall. Took about 15 minutes around topping 30mph and found no overheating or anything unusual once back in the garage so... that's good... I think. It's the peak of my mechanical or vehicular knowledge.

Definite shift in which brake is favored now. Previous owner overused the rear so the handle was sot now it's opposite. May be some body twisting.

Now that's clear I should register and plate before meeting with a mechanic to fix anything possible. Need a helmet case so I don't look like an attention whore when I go anywhere carrying helmet and of course the left fender reflector because laws and all that.

Still peaceful even in pieces. Vespa for life.

Won't be making any shows with this bike, though... maybe the next one. Hope the community can accept a bit of a dolt into your midst. I'll try making you proud but can't promise anything. My eyes are on the GTS SuperTech. Fingers crossed.

It adds character, that's all.

As to the vehicular mechanical knowledge, that can either grow, or you can start a good relationship with a dealer or local mechanic. There are plenty around here that ride a LOT, and rarely turn a wrench.

Thanks. I hope things work okay with it. Right now, I'm working on probably an OEM topcase in white to paint and install tail lights in along with replacing the left front reflector. I'm a Boy Scout from Cubs to adulthood with a little rebellion after mom married Scout Master Bob but one thing sticks in my mind... those top case lighting systems look pretty nice and safe. My only concern is whether a Bell Qualifier helmet will fit in the original top case with the lights installed.

Just before the fall, I found a unique center rack that actually fits my leather photography kit so I do some sightseeing and photography. Need all the safety I can find on a bit of a shoestring budget.

Just hoping there's no serious structural damage.
