I have just acquired a bare Vespa px frame and engine non electric start from 1980 and slowly going to build it into a non battery non indicator model but with the later electronic ignition electronic.

Is there a wiring loom specific without indicators wire in from that period or just remove the unnecessary wiring.

I am also a little confused over the components needed as appears there are different types of stators and cdi/coil packs. I presume 3 pin regulator / rectifier is the correct type?

I have experience of wiring with dc circuits on bikes about 4 decades ago but not ac.
Even a decent book would help.
Many thanks in advance

I'm not too familiar with Euro P's and PK's as they are different then the US models.
It seems the no indicator P's had a 6V system with points and another with a CDI.

With a no battery P wiring loom https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/wiring-loom_86100000 I'm sure you can tape up/remove the extra indicator wires but there are some more wire from the removed flasher that needs taping up or joining. http://www.scooterhelp.com/electrics/wiring/VSX1T.no.battery.pdf. It uses a 3 prong regulator. To me this seems easy.

You can also go with the P no indicator wiring loom that uses a CDI https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/wiring-loom_87035100. That would need a 12v conversion by adding a 3 prong regulator and changing wiring. This seems more difficult to me and I don't know what type of handlebar switch would be used for 12V on this 6V loom. http://www.scooterhelp.com/electrics/wiring/VSX1T_Euro_6V_CDI.pdf Maybe the 6V handlebar switch can be converted, too.

Someone that has deleted their P indicators may pop on and provide better detail.

Good luck!

My VNA wiring upgrade came with wires for signals. You can either just remove the wires or tape them off.
