I agree that it would take months to make targeted tourism but if someone wants to get out of the usual patterns and has more time, in the video at the link they will find a brief taste of what is there.

Hoping that the gradual return to normality is definitive I invite all tourists who want to come to Italy, to visit my region, Lazio, which is out of the traditional trips due to the fact that everyone wants to visit only Rome because they have little time but i places around the capital of Italy are equally rich in history and beauty.

Nice. Would love to ride around Europe on a Vespa although I am really paranoid of riding on the wrong side of the road.

Just stay in the center a little to the right of the line and don't overtake ...
I too would have some difficulty driving "English" and I would have an added handicap given the lack of sight in the right eye. |

Well done Atilla, I forgot about Malta!
During my first car hire holiday in Tuscany many years ago, I came out of a restaurant late one evening and proceeded to drive down the left side of the road. Immediately staring directly into oncoming headlights I soon woke up to my error |

Attila, I am headed somewhat close by this coming September. If everything works out from the restrictions I will be staying in via della Piazza, 4 Collazzone 06050 PG Italy. According to google maps it's about 2 hours by car, which we have already reserved.
Great video, btw. I will pass along to my girlfriends and maybe get some of these places on our list. Thanks. |

I've had this weird obsession with avoiding highly popular places and finding the obscure but amazing things that are off the main tourist trails. I've had variable luck, but it's great not being squeezed by crowds of gawking tourists. We did wind up in Rome a few years ago, which wasn't all that bad, except for the Vatican...what were we thinking? So, yes, Lazio and the like sure have appeal to me. No plans for the immediate future, but life is transitioning soon and I'll be back in Italy. And I do like to keep a low profile unlike some....(not mine, thank God)

Great video, thank you for sharing it with us.
Incidentally Civita is about 15 minutes from my home in Porano. I've been there several times and it never ceases to amaze me. |

Have a desire to go see the places in Sicily ( Inspector Montalbano) .. I think those who are willing to not go for the obvious touristy stuff then they shall find a way to have great adventures meeting people and having conversations that feed the mind and soul. |

Attila,
Many of the posters on this forum have been fortunate enough to travel to Europe and returned to explore off the main tourist attractions. It is hard to explain to the novice traveler how much there is to see in Italy. You have been building for + 2000 years. There is more unique architecture and sights of interest to see in downtown Naples than in the entire State of Minnesota. The gift of History and Culture is staggering in Italy. When I was lucky enough to live in Italy, I would just head out of town, in any direction, and there was amazing things to experience everywhere. It was like sensory overload. Even after four years, I barely scratched the surface. I use to think, like on the Amalfi Coast, or in Gaeta near you, do these local people have any idea how damn beautiful this place is? Hey, it is not that I don't enjoy all the Lakes, Trees and mosquitos here in Minnesota. It simply does not have rustic charm of your old world. My Blushing Bride Pam on our Honeymoon in Gaeta on the coast just South of Attila..
Greek Temples in Paestum just South Sorrento.
