For my headlight modulation project research, I need to know what bulb I have. I would have sworn that Robot at Scooter West said it was incandescent. I googled it and got HS1 Halogen and thought it was wrong. Then I found it listed in my owners manual as an HS1 Halogen. I've attached a photo of the bulb in my scooter. Sorry about the quality. I know this is raw nube stuff.

I don't expect to ride much at night. Again, I think Robot said it would not be upgraded to european LED's because the 50 "draws power from the magneto"

Has anyone done the LED conversion?

Thanks much

Same thing. A "halogen" bulb is an incandescent bulb that's filled with halogen gas.

Is my HS1 headlight bulb the same as an H4? Googling gets me different answers. Do they have the same base?

If I remember correctly, the HS lamp heats less than an H lamp ... and they have a different socket base.

To my eye HS1 and H4 bases appear to be the same but the filaments look different. According to Google, HS1 is 35W and H4 is 55W. I don't know the difference between HS1 and H1, if there is any,

This link seems to explain the differences between the Hs1 and H4.

https://ecosportdiyseries.com/2019/10/07/replacing-h4-with-an-hs1-bulb/

I finally took the chrome headlight ring and cover off to access the bulb. It is an HS1. From the bulb: Osram 64185 which is a HS1 halogen. $15.25 on Amazon. I watched the scooter west video on converting the primavera 150 to LED to see Robots great description on how to take it apart.

You tube link

Not hard to follow.

My HS1 pictured. Lower watts and wider center pin that an H4. So according to the link I posted, H4 fits HS1 mounting fixture without modification. But HS1 in H4 mounting fixture requires bending of the center pin. And HS1 is less bright. Well documented in this link.

... and therefore being less bright it heats less, as already mentioned but ... there is a reason and I tell you, an H4 would have baked the reflective part and the transparent part (if made of plastic). The HS is designed for small headlights.
