That is a carburetor so you can try and adjust the screw that I pointed to. It looks like yours is adjusted all the way out by the looks of things so there is a lot of increased idle you can dial in. See if you can tell if there is a small spring around that screw. It is used to keep the screw where it is set.

This is just where I would start, there is a lot more that can be checked but you said you are not used to working on engines so maybe we get lucky this time!
Thanks a bunch, Kevin. I missed this post when I was catching up. Excited to give it a try.

Edited. Would you check to see if what I circled is the screw to set the idle? Thanks

Yes that is it. You can't really mess your scooter up by messing with this. Of course if it's revving really fast you back the screw off a bit and bring it into something more reasonable.

Don't thank me until we see if it works but I wanted to say that the skills of being able to upload an image and add some graphics to it (like you did with the yellow circle) put you in a great position to solve a lot of problems with mechanical things!

Good Luck!

Thanks, Kevin ☺️

Well it worked! Something worked in my favor. Between running through a couple of tanks with premium fuel, the additive, and adjusting the idle I've not had a stall in the last few trips out with Blue. Plus, I actually did the adjusting myself ☺️

I kind of wonder if the whole stalling thing was related to our move back home from St Louis. We transported our scooters in a moving van, and I don't think the tank was empty on mine. I know I had also used a few tanks of less than premium gas, and the scooter sat for a long winter storage. But she's running great now.

Thanks!

And... you got to know your machine better and solved the problem yourself. Saved a little time and money in the process. A good feeling for sure

It is a great feeling, Kevin. Little steps, but it's helping me to build confidence. Also love not having to pay for a service appointment. Hope Blue continues to run smoothly.
