Hopefully this is a simple answer to a very basic question.

I installed a new clutch in my 2012 Stella 4t. Long story short, the bike had just a few hundred miles on it; not nearly enough for wear parts to have worn out. I went with the original spacer behind the clutch because it was in the bike. It was way thinner than the Stella manual called out. Also, the new kit came with one that was way thicker than the Stella manual called out.

My question is this. What are the side effects of the clutch spacer being o/s or u/s?

The bike's running and shifting fine, I believe. What I notice is a definite "geary" sound to it, especially if I let up on the throttle and engine brake. Also, sitting at a stoplight in neutral, if I drop into first there is a definite "clunk" as it goes into gear, much more than I remember my worn out P200E doing.

Thoughts?

Ok, I stand corrected. The Stella manual DOESN"T seem to mention thickness. I was looking at entirely the wrong thing.

In fact, looking back at my own post I said as much :

Now on to the next - and hopefully final - question. Under the clutch is a spacer washer. The one currently in the bike measures 1.5mm. The replacement in the kit I bought has a spacer that's 3.3mm. The Stella service manual I have is good about a lot of things, but also lacking about a lot of things. That washer never gets mentioned.

Please explain to me in simple terms which one is the correct one. IIRC a different washer will change the way the clutch feels/works. I would like to button this all up, but I want to do it right
