Greetings,

2007 Fly 150. Rear brake engages on left turn. Left brake lever felt strange and I heard clicking, so I took off the cover again.

On a prior post, someone suggested the cable is too short. However, as I look at the way the cable is routed (see photo), the cable crosses over to the right side of the bike and then follows the path underneath to the drum.

So the cable appears to be shortened by the routing.

The other headset cables go through the cable tie to the right of my hand in the photo.

I'm a noob. I'm figuring everything out through this forum and some amazing videos. I know nothing about brakes. So before I re-routed the cable, I thought I should ask.

It would seem that the cable should go on the right side with the others and then I can adjust the nuts as needed to get the right travel.

What say you?

Thank you in advance.

That term is widely used in Tuscany ...
Do you have Tuscan ancestors?
Yes, your deduction seems to be logical ... in fact the only one possible.

"noob" is a common term on the English-speaking internet. It is a variation of "newbie", or someone who is new at something.

Allow me ... "niubbo" is confused with another word and that is "nabbo" which means "more or less expert person who uses every means (even the most incorrect) to get the most out of a situation with the least effort".
But this definition is misleading and over time the Italian word "niubbo" which is the term given by internet users, translated "noob" in English and which comes from the English word "newbie" has eliminated it.
In Tuscan lexical jargon it can be confused with the name of a bird (nibbio) but also of a vintage scooter (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gianca) ...
I'm digressing ...
However, yes, the meaning is the same here too.

Morning! No, family is from Gamberale. I meant "newbie," but now I've learned it means something totally different in Tuscany!

I moved the brake cable routing and it now is fixed.

Thank you!

Sometimes people try to replace rear brake cables without taking the bike apart. If it's routed the wrong way around the battery box or whatever else is under the floor panel, this can happen. The Fly cable is longer than the LX cable.
