Does anyone know if an air filter box from a 1999 et4 will fit for a 2001 et2?

It should be the same air box. They use the same air filter element. The bellows between the box and the carb might be different.
The ET4 with the leader engine used a different box, but they didn't make those until 2000.

Lol yes this is why I have been so confused whilst searching ebay for one.. I believe I need the airbox that has one hole at top to receive air from pipe running from front of the seat and then the below to the carb... but there is another airbox with a third tube coming off of it but I'm not sure where that third one would run.. and I have seen both boxes advertised as for use with 2001 et2

Yes, Piaggio came up with a very strange little 4 stroke engine with a clear sight glass for oil level and a dellorto slide carb that they couldn't increase to 150ccs, which was a little on the dumb side.
