I'm picking up my 75th anniversary GTS this week, and asked for a Vespa Flyscreen https://www.af1racing.com/OEM-Vespa-Flyscreen-GTS-605108M .

I'd appreciate hearing from members with first-hand experience using this on a GTS.
I live in Texas, where the summers are hot and the winters aren't that cold. I'm just under six feet tall.

Most topics in the search results seemed to focus on medium vs. large and OEM versus Faco.

Thanks very much.

At 6'4" I'm a little tall. I fitted one of these to my GTS and found it dumps the wind right into my face making for a very noisy ride. As a result I only have it on the bike when its really chilly out, down around freezing.

On the plus side: installation, once its been set up properly, is very fast and easy and removal takes only seconds. So you can pop it off and on as needed.

Folklore dictates that it improves your speed by 5 mph. Personally I would not put it on my GTS. I used to have it on my LX.

I use that windscreen exclusively, on several GTSs. It makes the ride (especially on the freeway) much more comfortable, but also much more noisy. Earplugs are mandatory.

I'm 5'8".

The fly screen looks good on the bike but I replaced mine with a mid-size w/s. The fly screen just didn't really seem to help - air flow was right at chest level - and the noise from buffeting was pretty bad. And the fly screen was totally ineffective at stopping the bugs. I'm 5'10".

Actually, if I could do it over, I'd go even higher. The midsize needs just a couple more inches IMHO.

I've had several GTS and many windscreens. I just recently got the Ermax matte black (other colors available) fly screen through SIP. It's a little bit taller (not by much) than the original OEM fly screen but overall I think it looks like it fits better. There are a lot of choices out there, you'll probably end up with a few before you know it! Good luck with the decision.

Funny you should say that, Everytime I roll up to the local meet for a ride they always say "Darth Vespa"!

It's fairly apt.

You're making me want to borrow an HPE to take on the freeway and compare wind noise. My Touring came with one, so I don't know anything else.

I have both a Vespa flyscreen and a Vespa mid-height for my GTS. I use the flyscreen in the summer, and the mid-height in the winter. The weather in western Oregon is mild. Warm to hot in the summer, and cool plus wet in the winter. The mid-height does the best job of diverting cold wind and rain away from my body and moving the airstream over my helmet. I use the flyscreen in the summer when having some of the airstream on my chest and against my helmet keeps me cooler and more comfortable.

We have OEM flyscreens on all our USA (California) scoots. Kicks the wind-blast up and away from your chest. I wouldn't use any other.

As above, earplugs are mandatory if going more than 50 mph for more than a few minutes.

Hi Jim. I still remember when I disagree with you about the earplugs. Razz emoticon

It did not take me long on highways to change my mind.

I have one and find it works well in the rain and in cold weather. Keeps the rain and wind off your chest. You especially need something during cold winter weather if you ride all year round.

The only advice I can give is to try it out. Some people like them, some don't.

I live in Texas too.
