Modern Vespa

Anyone know where to get this BBQ rack part? It is tightened down with a wing nut and holds the back rest in place. One of my wingnuts loosened and fell off and lost this part. I am thinking I might have to have it custom made at a machine shop.

You might find a drill bushing that is close enough, you could put that angle on with a file in a drill, bench grinder etc.

Yep. That's one you have to make.

It's some kind of modified piece. The carriage bolts are too. Just standard ones, but ground down on one side.

I looked around a lot for one of those (I had one) and ended up using nylon washers from the hardware store.

But it would be easy to fabricate, especially if you have one for reference. It's just some tubing with a taper cut into it.

On mine, the bottom of it is also at an angle. But I think might have been a defect.

Well, I contacted a local machine shop and had some of these made. There was some miscommunication and I wanted a few extra made in case I lost another one. Well he made a dozen of them. So now for the short term they obtainable if you are interested. I have 8 pair to sell. They are made of T6061 aluminum so your scooter is lighter and quicker! 🤪😜. PM if interested.
