Hi, today i took scooter on a 200 mike round trip. First time in a year i have taken it out on a long run, i do hiuse it daily around town.
It seemed to struggle to go faster than 60 mph. It did manage it but not how i remember. Fuel consumption has deteriorated a bit too.
Before i put into a shop i was hoping someone could point me as to what sort of things to look at first. Its a 2015 gts 300, 22,000 miles.
Of course it could be just my imagination and possibly the wind
Thanks

Curious if you've ever serviced the belt and weights or had a look at your variator? These items deteriorate with time and diminish performance. Maybe some old gas as well, but wind will scrub speed

It has been regualry serviced. Belt rollers changed at 13k. Only change has been odyssey exhaust fitted (which seems loud even with both baffles in) new exhaust gasket fitted last week. One thing i have noticed is throttle seems to have more play than when first got it, so naturally you would need to turn more to getcsame effect. Only thing i dont remember ever having done is valves.
I have not hot anyone to compare with, but last year, i did a long trip during lockdown, no wind and i never went below 75mph.
Msybe i have just worn roller s down tje way i ride.
Can you check wear and tear on these without taking side casing off?

I don't know your exhaust, and with this said, a poor designed exhaust raises the octave but diminishes performance. Try fitting your stock exhaust to see if things improve

When was the new exhaust fitted? If it is a relatively new addition, it's highly likely that this is the culprit if the bike wasn't tuned on the dyno afterwards.

Edit: just noticed you said the valves have likely not been checked. Absolutely MUST check them as that could be the issue too.

I have tried to book a gull service in, a two month waiting list.
Changed exhaust to stock exhaust tonight and will test it tomorrow. I did notice that exhaust wasn't tight around manifold despite keep on tightening bracket.
Dealer says some people have complained exhaust loses power... So that is possibility.
By the way i have changed oil, cleaned air filter ever 6000 miles. Belt and rlers changed at 14 000 miles, and still wete good to go

So you have 8000 miles on current belt & rollers ?
If so then it's getting near to replacement time again ( 9000 miles ) .
