There are lots of headlight options, bc they made those bikes all the way up to the 2010s.

I got one of these, and was really happy with it. It's the one from the later models.

That's great. Happy to see there are options. Hopefully it's an easy job. Can't see the potholes etc with the original headlight. Especially other cars Don't see me. I do love the original bulb and the look but need to tap this one out to safety. It won't look original smacked up against a soccer mom and her SUV. They rule the roads here. It's terrifying.

Yes to both. That's what I was told to do for the first too fill ups. Also after 500 miles I'm going to change all fluids. Figure it's a top down rebuild so give it fresh lubricants after the break in. I motul 710 that I will use when I get to that point.

Might leave the clears but do agree with the chrome. Not crazy about it, will get that done soon. And for the original back to us spec tail light , lol. I'm skipping that and keeping the euro taillight. If the next owner wants it, they can do it. Off course that I want to go ride i can't. Been raining for the last few days. 🤬 sure. Here's a piece of the most delicious cake ever made and a fork. Oh yeah you need to wait for everyone to finish before you can eat yours. Lol.
Agree with your decision to keep the existing tail light. Seems that the original holes on your US spec scooter tail light have been sealed shut. They are usually located below the tail light you have now; no good reason to drill them out again for the US style tail light. My PX150E has the same Euro tail light like yours, and its original tail light holes covered by the license plate. Other than that, great looking, mostly still unmolested original bike.

Motul makes a scooter specific full synthetic 2T oil called "Scooter Power 2T." Costs a little more than 710 and might just be the same stuff with a different label. Something to consider.

Does anyone know the return policy on sip scooters ? Can't find anything on their website. Want to make sure that I can return since it's coming from overseas.

Also per my question up top. Anyone use scooter-speed.com. ? They say they are an extension of sip scooters here in the US. If so, any good ?

Starting to order my parts that I want to replace.

yes to scooter mercato
yes to scooter west

SIP - If I do it I do it through scooter-speed.com or Scooter Mercato, no need for worrying about customs and all that crap, they do it all and send it to you

So I have the horn cast and headlight cover painted same color as body. Very excited to put it on. Got a question though. How do I take the headlight cover off. I’ve taken out the four screws and unscrewed the key ring. But it still is tough to budge. I’m scared that I will pinch a wire or something if I pull it up. Is there another step I’m missing ?

Also got some other parts replacing the chrome. She shout. To look pretty.

Push the speedo cable back up where it exits out the fork. That will give you just enough room to reach under the headset, disconnect the speedo cable and tilt the headset back.

Pay attention to how the wires are routed on the old headset so you can do it the same way when you put on the new headset.

Ahhh ok need to push the cable up the fork. Makes sense, gives more room to pull it off and disconnect everything. Thank you.

Great looking scooter...beautiful condition...great around the town ride...hows the motor compartment condition? The previous owners seem like they would have kept the engine compartment in good condition....

In all seriousness, if you don't want the chrome horn cover and headset cover I'll take them off your hands for my P200E project. In fact, I'm looking for two sets.

Beautiful bike!
Cheers!

I will be replacing the legshield trim with the aluminium trim shortly...im just waiting for the trim tool to arrive..my old one is pretty much worn out...i just installed a front rack that I use every day..the first item I picked up with it as a teat was water...i Definitely load up the front and rear racks when I'm riding around the city/Michigan avenue area....

Can you enlighten me on what the "trim tool" is and how it works?

Imagine a hand held can opener..but instead it works by squeezing two molding rollers running along the aluminium trim..you would run this tool along the trim piece until you get the desired look as well as proper molding fit along the leg shield...but you do have to either take the entire handle bar grip Speedo box off and for some people that can be out of there comfort zone..thats why some choose a plastic replacement trim....and in some cases you have to drill out a few floor rail rivets too so the leg shield rail trim fits properly..then reinstall the rivets on the footboard track.....yeah...it can be alot....this is why I'm waiting until the end of the season to do it....it can be a weekend project depending on your year scooter...some scooters can be done rather quickly....

I love my front rack! It'll swap scooters in about 30 seconds.
Sometimes it doesn't hold as much as I buy...

Sport been away on vacation. Haven’t been on. For now I think I’m going to keep the chrome as well. I might miss it. Will be putting the matching colored pieces next week when I return.
