Hey guys,
So I got the side stand from SIP last week. Just installed it. Wanted to keep the center stand so this model works, more or less...

Also been dealing with the new Polini box getting struck by the center stand stops. At first I was going to use the 1/8" plate that comes with the side stand to make a new strike location. Cut 'em instead.

There's about 5/8" play to cut off before the stop hits the bolt

Finished. Clears the exhaust just barely

Have both now. Side stand spring rubs against the center stand but they both work. Nice to just lean it sometimes.

Is the back tire off the ground in that picture? Just thinking of mine hitting when I lifted the rear with the shock still attached.

The back tire is on the ground. Front end is resting on my cooler, to remove the stand.

A swing and a miss.
Tried this "hack" to avoid threading the spring. Fail. Spring slips out when the stand is down.

This maybe an option and still keep the sidestand. The sidestand hookup is next to the spring.

Very nice R8! I love the side stand on Ruby and pretty much use it all the time, unless I need to work on it, then still having the center stand comes in oh so handy.

I cannot use the center stand until I deploy the side stand, but small price to pay to have them both.

Genius. Moves the center stand to other side of that rib, using the stock bolt holes (no drilling). Much better spring setup too.

Working on the hitting the spring issue. This is my situation upside down:
That spring isn't a return spring, more a hold it down spring. My plan is to cut off an 1/8th of the side stand stop to increase the angle, hoping to use the weight of the bike as its own stop, and eliminate that spring. Will follow up later.

Okay so there is an inherent problem adding a side stand to a vintage vespa. The weight of the bike is on the engine side and the bike has to lean to the left to avoid flooding it.
I got the spring rubbing sorted out. Cut and slid the side stand 5/8" forward. That's as far as I could go before hitting the floor rib. Center stand barely hits the side stand spring now. Livable.
Moved the center stand spring to the side too. That worked out well.
Still don't feel that comfortable with this version side stand on the other side of the center of gravity.
(setup is upside down in video and spring isn't connected yet)

...and that's the reason i why i would never ever install a side stand. There's close to a 100% chance that at some point the scooter will tip over for some reason or another. VooDoo and i have both fabbed up side stands that mount up on the right side of our scoots. The scooter is very stable that way.
