Ok, update time!

Did some minor frame straightening (pics below) and its off to the welder to fix the leg shield crack and tail issues. After that on to the body work and finally paint a nice shiny two stage red. I contemplated original, but really really want a red one.

On the hunt for VBA cowls, wallet open.

Also, I can open the bottom, drill the side, or drill small and use a slide hammer to repair the tunnel dings/creasel- I would like some opinions/feedeback on which to do. I am leaning slide hammer since it will make the least damage and I can back it with washers to get a clean flat finish.

Ahah! I thought of a trick you could try, using a slide hammer and NO drilling. I was taught this long ago, by an old school body man; my teacher when I took welding & bodywork class long ago...

Dont drill holes for the slide hammer. Instead, tack weld on a few washers to the frame. Then replace the 'screw-grabber part" on the end of your slidehammer with a Hook-type-thing. Then hook on to your welded-washers, and pull away. When done, snap off the washers and sand it smooth. No drilling/filling required. I've done this way, and it works! Worth a shot!

For a suitable number of dollars, You can now buy a tool that will spot weld a rivet-looking thing onto the frame like a reverse nailgun for doing exactly what GL was taught.

GL's method is nominally more work, but a heck of a lot cheaper, I'm sure.

If you have a mig, you can weld nails as studs, weld a slide hammer to vice grips. Less than $100 depending on slide hammer and vice grips.

I've purchased stuff like this that I only really care about working once. I have a grinder, I needed to use for maybe 20 minutes but was 2.5 hours from home. Cheap and quick and if you weren't done you could exchange it for another.

So, what do you got under the hood in that cozy coupe? Looks like the front forks are bent, but sweet ride otherwise.

Its got like two tiny legpower, but can be upgraded with the "Cousin shover" option, which gets like FOUR. Brakes are shot though, runs into everything.

I bought a Uni Spotter brand back in 1996. It was definitely a game changer for me.
