I was searching for a nice, somewhat stealthy phone mount, and came across Quadlock. I don't need navigation very often, so I didn't want something like a Ram mount (which I use in my truck).

Lots of cyclists I know use this same type of mount, even on mountain bikes so I know it'll work well.

But when I'm zooming down the freeway at 70-80mph, with no windshield, how's it hold up? Is a windshield a must for these for freeway travel?

I've been using this without issue.
Though im not on the freeway regularly, and then im probably just breaking 60mph.

I also have the smaller flyscreen - but it doesn't block wind from the phone mount.

I worry more about my case than the mounting security. I have an older iphone and am using the sticker mount https://www.quadlockcase.com/collections/shop-other/products/universal-adapter?variant=209699139

One bit of warning - regardless of mount there is an issue with newer phones optical imgage stabilization and motorcycle vibrations. Quadlock sell a vibration damper (the internet has said their term/name is tech incorrect but ... same item).

Best advice ive seen has been to keep any app that uses the camera closed/not running in the background. And from personal experience dont accidentally open the camera app. Things were a non issue on my iphone 6s+ until i opened the camera app accidentally. things arent totally broken but are a bit funky now.

I have a Quadlock mounted on my 2016 GTV, which has only a very short flyscreen which I don't think offers much (if any) wind protection to the phone. With the Quadlock and the (optional) vibration dampener, I've had no issues, the thing is Fort-Knox strong.

I use products by www.sp-connect.com they are trusted partners of piaggio group! Says it right on the home page. But they are a little cheaper than quadlock and I like there overall design. Been using them for a while on both bikes without any issues....

I have the Quadlock and the vibration damper. A bit hard to get the phone on with gloves but it holds tight. I really had to wrench down the locknut on the mirror stem I attached it to, because the wind flow on the phone loosened the mirror stem while riding. The word on many blogs is to definitely get the vibration damper to avoid wrecking the camera image stabilization on your phone.

I've been using QuadLock on Melody for close to two years, first for a Samsung Galaxy S9, and now for a Galaxy S10e, both without incident. (Anybody with an S9 in need of a QuadLock case? It's up for grabs.) I have a Flyscreen on Melody, which doesn't actually completely protect the mounted phone from wind much, and never even think of engaging the camera when mounted.
Compact, simple, sturdy, elegant: it works for me. (Shown with my old Galaxy S9.)

I've been using a Quad Lock on two Vespas now. I definitely prefer it over the RAM X-Mount. No issues in a couple years with this mount. Solid, secure, and fast to put on/take off. I use my iPhone for navigation and running Insta360 cameras - nice to have it close to the left grip for that use.
