OK I know this has been discussed a zillion times
I want this helmet BUT I am not buying it as its not a full face and even with never going on freeways I think I should still wear a full face helmet besides this one is rather cheap so I kinda question its quality but damn it looks cool!

I decided I am most likely going to go with a Bell Bullitt and found out you can customize them! Sure it costs a little more but I think its worth it. Below is the one I built out, have not ordered it yet but I think it looks pretty cool! I want green, white and red in it since Im getting a Vespa. I did the anthracite as I think it will go well with the Sei Giorni and the helmet paint is all matte. I know the bubble isn't as good as the flat lens but it just looks so cool.

I have to find a local dealer to try em on and make sure on fit and all before I order

It's hard to find a full face mask with a retro flair and doesn't look like you should be wearing it on a crotch rocket

Please feel free to share any thoughts and options (even negative LOL)

Thanks!!!

I fell off of too many dirtbikes to not wear a full face helmet, I just bought this which is great with a pair of glasses, behind a full windshield on my Liberty, too much wind on the MP3 with the stock windshield, faster than 35mph

I use X-Lite (Nolan) X-551 with blue mirror visor. There is also a built-in sunvisor inside.

Congratulations. I love those helmets too you point out -- especially the FF.

I recently bought a Shoei RF-SF FF (having a 3/4 and going fast) -- but actually I might get an Aria -- soooo much more comfortable (although the Shoei is a perfect fit) I have a round head. I wouldn't mind a variety:)

Good luck looking around and along with the good advice everyone gave me I strongly echo trying not the helmets -- its makes a huge difference. I had trouble with COVID -- but I found out I am a round oval. So although the Shoei is a perfect fit I think the Aria Quantum X is more comfortable -- but I'm not in any rush.

So when it comes to protective gear, there is a wide array of choice for all budgets.
What is important is to make sure that all of them meet the minimum standards. Thereafter it is personal taste and what one wishes to spend.
I currently use a HJC i70. It functions for what i need it to do. If I had the budget for it I would have liked to get a Schuberth

I love the way you designed the Bullit, that is slick. For non-highway speeds you'll love it.

I've had many helmets through the years, including the oft-maligned Diesel Hi-Jack, and I currently switch between a Biltwell Gringo-S and a Shoei RF-SR.

The Biltwell is light and easy and retro looking but I take the Shoei for longer distances or higher speeds.

I had a Schuberth for a few years, a C3 I believe.

The shell finish was far to soft and scratched way too easily, the tinted visor mechanism broke under warranty which meant the helmet had to be sent clean across the continent for authorized repair, which took three months (lucky I had my old Shoei) the lid was reasonably light but not too quiet so I would hardly rate it as a helmet worth its lofty price tag.

My current Bell is much nicer, with all the same features.

My previous Arai was also much nicer, but even more costly.

If I were in the market for a lid now it would be another Shoei RF, I've owned several in that series and they are a superior lid and a reasonable price.

Nolan N70-gt2. It has a removable chin bar, so it can be worn as a 3/4 or a full face helmet. I find it very comfortable. Great visibility - better than any other FF helmet I've worn.

Grazie, Attila...finding the right helmet can be murder, even with lots of people attempting to give relevant advice (like virtually everybody here). My only highly-biased advice here is to go with a modular helmet at the very least, and a full-face ideally. Any helmet is better than none, of course, but the more you'll be out on the road, and the faster you'll potentially be riding, the more critical your choice will be.

Initially he had also put a jet helmet among his favorites and so I also proposed a jet as an alternative even though I switched to using a modular one because, even if a little less practical, it is safer.

When I first bought the GTS I was using a half helmet because it would fit under the seat. Although I liked feeling the wind in my face, it was kind of a pain because every time I rode I had to put on goggles and ear plugs and helmet.

After a couple of months I wanted more protection and bought the HJC I90. It is pretty quiet up to 50 mph, which means I can leave out the earplugs on short trips to and around town. I have a big head and bought a 2X large. At first I would get a headache after wearing it for less than an hour, but it is gradually breaking in. Still pretty snug. Hopefully it will keep getting more comfortable as I wear it more.

I only wear white helmets - best visibility at night.
I even apply a white reflective strip at the back of the helmet for added night visbility.

That Nolan 2GT looks like a great helmet.
I must search out the distributor in South Africa.

The Bell Bullitt is what I am going with. Im going to buy a high end full (Shoei, AGV, Arai or similar) for longer rides etc. I dont think Ill ever regret having two quality helmets to pick from.

What site did you find that would allow you to customize the paint? I found one place (www.helmade.com) but after customizing, the price was $736! I only paid $299 for my current Bullitt (it was a really good sale price). I'm not sure I could bring myself to pay that much.

Bell helmets fit me really well and I've been wearing them for years. I have a fairly round shaped head. The people I know who have more of an oval shaped head, don't like the Bell as much.

Also buy a replacement inner lining, if you sweat a lot you may need to take it to the laundry momentarily and have a replacement one.

Hey Marvelous,

I totally agree with the full face philosophy. Better safe than...

I tried on the Bell Bullitt, but felt that the part that protects the chin was too narrow, and wasn't thrilled with the look. I'm going back and forth with the

Biltwell Gringo https://www.biltwellinc.com/collections/gringo
and Gringo S https://www.biltwellinc.com/collections/gringo-s

Both have nice colors (not sure if they are customizable).

Good luck

Wearing my old MK21 when I was active duty navy.
Great venting, but positive pressure.
28 pounds, but weight in the shoulders was fine (zero weight on head and perfect fit!)
Visibility was better than the MK5, but made using mirrors difficult.

chromeburner ....on ebay.
Read their feedback rating and buyer's comments.
Yeah, they are in the Netherlands, but the shipping is free, and you won't believe how fast it gets to your door. (3>4 days) Be darn certain of your size - return shipping would be on your dime.
Only chromeburner had my size in my proffered color.
Many rides with it - including rain rides - still loving it! Lighter than my previous Nolan, and more aerodynamic.

Last month, I bought a Schuberth C3 Pro. Like Fudmucker, I prefer a white helmet (my last 3 have been solid white). I had to size up to an XL from the L that I have been wearing with my Nolan. The C3 Pro is comfortable and quiet. Not as light weight as I'd prefer, but I wanted a modular. Nice interior, exterior is a solid gloss white. When I stick my head above my windshield, there is no buffeting, I'm assuming due to the design.

I'll still be using my Nolan N70-2GT (removable chin bar) when I want to mount a camera on top (doesn't work with the modular).

On thing I found with the C3 Pro: I can't put it on while wearing sunglasses - nearly ripped my ears off. I can get the glasses on after putting the helmet on. That said, the drop-down sun visor on this is very nice.

A look...
