I recently had to replace the start button on my 2009 Piaggio fly 150, while replacing this part somehow the front turn signals have stopped working. I tried replacing the turn signal switch but they still don't work. I suspect it is the relay, but I can't figure out where it is. I found the starter relay but I can't find the turn signal relay or is there just one relay? I bought the scooter used and it came with no owner's manual, I live in a small rural town and there's no one around here who will work on them so I'm pretty much on my own. I have basic tools, no garage and limited ability, Google and YouTube have been no help. Thanks in advance.

If the back turn signals are working, then the relay (which is part of the regulator for the Fly I believe) and the switch are both good. You've just got a bad connection or two - very likely where you've been working already.

When all else has failed, check the bulbs. I've seen scooters with four blown bulbs before the owner finally realized he didn't have turn signals. Most people rule out the bulbs if they notice all the signals don't work at once, and it probably isn't that, but check one or two, just to be sure.
In a very interesting case of WTF were they thinking, Piaggio put the indicator relay for the 50cc scooters in the Voltage Regulator, and for the 150cc bikes, they decided to add it to the CDI. I'm not sure if the idea was to sell more voltage regulators and CDIs, or reduce the number of parts in a particular model, but I'm sure it made sense to someone. If you need a relay, you can either buy another CDI or search for JimC's how-to about working around that particular feature. |

Hi. I have the same bike, but a 2007. I did some brake line work and thought I unplugged something because the turn signals seemed to stop working. The wiring is confined to the brake lever area and runs into the CDI. Check the fuses and the bulbs.
Also, toggle the kill switch a few times and start the bike to see if that does the trick. It did for me. |

Fuses ok, gonna get a test lite later today and test the bulbs/sockets, will try toggling kill switch too, if none of this works would replacing the CDI be the next step?
