1980 P200 with stock clutch

I’ve read a lot about Cosa clutches BGM clutches etc but I’m curious about upgrading my stock clutch. I would like to reduce the tension needed to pull the clutch lever but or course don’t want to lose gripping power. Are there any lighter-duty springs that I could use to accomplish that?

Also are CR 80 plates an improvement? Why? What difference would I feel while driving?

Mr riding style is very conservative so I don’t heed heavy-duty performance

Anyrecommendations ?

If you have a stock P200E, a Cosa clutch would be a nice improvement in terms of left hand comfort. That said, the seven spring was/is a great clutch for stock and mildly tuned scenarios. You probably do not want weaker springs, even if they were available.

My totally stock 2003 PX200 has a Cosa clutch and it is a big improvement on my 1987 PX200E with the old seven spring.

don't underestimate the importance of a new inner/outer clutch cable and proper routing of the outer on clutch effort - is all your house in order?

just additional food for thought

The stock Cosa II clutch is definitely more comfortable than standard. The pull feels lighter and overall it's smooth and buttery.

CR80 discs meanwhile are great because the tabs don't mushroom over time. (Unlike the standard Cosa discs.)

+1

Best bang for buck IMO would be adjustable dogleg levers, new inner and outer w/ no plastic liner but nicely lubed with Teflon spray before installation, outer trimmed shorter if needed to eliminate any S curves, CR80 corks in your stock clutch and done.

Cosa clutch is nice, but I think you'd like get more from the above. Adjustable doglegs you will love. And you can always add Cosa clutch and upgrade later if needed, the CR80 corks are dead cheap so not a big investment.
