Yep, I'm still in Provo, Utah wishing all the cannonballers happy rides. I'm picking my uhaul up tomorrow, loading Tethys and heading back to Maryland. Everybody was trying to find me a pump but they just aren't to be found right now. It is a 6 to 8 week back order. That's the luck of it. It was an awesome experience for me. 2 day ride up to Maine, then Maine to Wyoming on our own two wheels. We rode the truck into Utah in hopes of sourcing a pump. But that wasn't on our own two wheels so I don't count for my updated 'ridden' image.
A huuuuuuge shout out to Scooter Lounge. http://www.scooterloungeonline.com/ They gave me and my scooter a lift up to Provo where I have a much better base for getting a uhaul and managing all the logistics. They are storing Tethys for me until I'm ready to load her up. And they have been helpful on which uhaul store is best, what hotel is in the best location, and the best places to grab a bite to eat. Trying to arrange everything from Delta Utah would have been beyond difficult and they have made it easy as cupcake. Good people.

Too bad there wasn't a dealer around somewhere like when Craig owned Kissell Motorsports. He pulled a fuel injector from a brand new GTS on the showroom floor for David Masse when his died in State College. I suspect he would have pulled a water pump too. Not sure that is common practice though... Safe travels back to Maryland.

It’s 4am & i woke up from pain for the 2nd time. Also the A/C intermittently sounds like someone is taking a blow torch to the wall so that scary sound keeps me awake once I wake too.
I’m laying here hurting debating whether to get up now or lay resting longer. My back left scapula hurt night of…from my Day 8 CP3 crash. Day 9,Yesterday while sport bike tuck riding on hills to keep my speed etc —around midday my left front & back ribs starting twanging in pain. I figured when I landed on my left arm, day 8 CP3, I must have jammed my body & that im having muscular pain. And that Day 9 tuck riding must have aggravated it so NO more tuck riding day 9. While D9 riding, once When I looked straight down at my Fanny pack I felt a pop hurt thing OUCH!! - & knew I couldn’t look down again while riding either. So pain while midday D9 riding. Took Advil & NO more tuck riding. Got here felt ok. Day 9 pain last night & now. Laying down in bed hurt!! my upper front & back ribs hurt. Before bed I saw a light bruise on my left back below my scapula. I think I’ve slightly misaligned a rib? If anything was broken I’d be wailing like a baby. So compared to others, I’m just minor suffering!! I’ve got ONE more day! AND now……there are fires in NorCal so they just officially changed part of the route. So my programmed garmin will be wrong for the first part of the route! So now I need to navigate by punching in some coordinates & we all know how bad I am at navigating haha. So I lay here hurting….debating getting up early to start riding……or rest more…..CANNONBALLLLLLLLLL

(But hopefully your coach won’t celebrate by carrying you around like a baby, unless you’re into that, and in that case, go for it, baby!) Go Pam GO! |

I'm uncertain...
Reading about the pains of GoPam I would like to tell her to think about health before things get worse, that there will be time for another trip, no one will criticize her if she wants to stop. Reason says: StopPam! The heart is often stronger than reason and then: GoPam! Reflect... |

I've always appreciated support drivers but after being in the truck and juggling all the kee0ing track of not just our team members but some of the other riders who have had issues as well actually riding is easier. Really glad that we are only officially supporting 4. It's exhausting. FYI, due to fires the cannonball route has a change today. Checkpoint 1 is too close to one of the largest fires so it is being replaced with Photo Bonus 1 advanced the new Checkpoint 1 and the published route will resume from Mineral Country Store & Motel.

All of these participants are tough. Tough as nails. GoPam - you are an animal. Reading these accounts leaves me absolutely awe-struck. I wouldn't put my new Vespa through any of that, even if my decrepit old body could handle it... which, I am sure, it can't.
Attila said, "Like Marvel characters"... this takes me back to being a kid and running to the neighborhood grocery store when the new comics came in. I couldn't do those things those super-heros did but it was sure fun to read about. Yeah, like that.

Being a support driver is a privilege since I have been both a rider and support driver you are not only responsible for yourself and the vehicle you are driving you have to be up before your team go to bed after they do and help anyone in need along the route being involved in two cannonballs is one of the high points in my life

Korney did have a punctured lung from his fall. I no not believe Pam does. She would be in much worse shape than she is. More of a concern as her support team is her fatigue. LM15 is riding with her to help with Nav issues.
