Congratulations to all Cannonballers including those who didn't make it for either mechanical issues or personal injury.
You are all The Dream Team but please permit me to give a mention to #103 and #173 being the two Cubs with trailers. I have been supporting them since before they left home. Great stuff and Party On. somerset |

I really enjoyed using the dedicated website to keep up with the events. The end of day videos were super cool too to put it all into perspective. I ran out of time to list the full list but it's curious to see the mix of weapons in the top 25! Sort of leads me to the idea that it is the incredible riders who make the difference and not the machines. I would love to see a list of mechanical issues or parts replaced list by rider as a follow on..
1. 2016 Yamaha SMAX 2. 2019 Honda c125 SuperCub 3. 2002 Vespa ET4 4. 2007 Vespa GTS 250ie 5. 2019 Vespa Sprint 150 6. 2014 Honda Forza 300 7. 2018 Kymco Like 150i 8. 2006 Vespa GTS 250ie 9. 2020 Vespa GTS 300 HPE 10. 2016 Vespa GTS 300ie 11. 2014 Honda Forza 300 12. 2016 Honda Forza 300 13. 2021 Honda ADV150 14. 2021 Honda ADV150 15. 2019 Honda c125 Super Cub 16. 2008 Piaggio BV 250* 17. 2019 Honda c125 Super Cub 18. 2021 Honda ADV 150 19. 2021 Honda ADV 150 20. 2015 Honda Forza 300 21. 2018 Yamaha SMAX 22. 2018 Vespa Primavera 23. 1986 Honda Helix 24. 2008 Vespa GTS 250ie 25. 2020 Vespa GTS 300ie

Congrats to all, especially George's mean banana who finished on a 150cc Bajaj chetak two stroke! And kraken for what looks to be making it almost the full way there on a p200!

lau7renharp wrote: Pam, if you want to keep going and finish today, YOU CAN DO IT LADY! Unconventional sports analogy, unknown to the children and forgotten by the elders… You’re like Kerri Strug, the little gymnast at the ‘96 Olympics who famously made a perfect vault and landed on one foot because she was in so much pain, winning the gold medal for team U.S.A. (But hopefully your coach won’t celebrate by carrying you around like a baby, unless you’re into that, and in that case, go for it, baby!) Go Pam GO! I’m a baby so I’d know if they were broken or a dangerous/lung issue. And I know they are just sore. And to clarify it was never a question of getting up to finish…more a question….do I get up at 4am or rest until 5am I was supposed to ride the GT200 further south in NorCal to celebrate my friend’s birthday then ride home to LA……but…..when GotMojo offered to trailer my scoot home from Sonoma where his lady was meeting him with his truck/trailer ….we decided instead of riding scoots with issues…..to instead get a U-Haul truck to load scoots & stuff to get to Sonoma. Then unloaded scoots & stuff last night. Today I slept in….I’ll leave this Sonoma hotel and drive an empty 15 foot U-Haul to Davis. Return U-Haul. Celebrate my buddy’s bday. And figure out when I want to fly home to LA. I dream of sleeping for a month haha but it will be back to work time very soon. I feel like Tim Robbins in Jacob’s Ladder. Leaving the road to madness and slowly returning to sanity. Scooter Cannonball is in my heart and blood. I know I’m crazy. I Love it. What a thrilling adventure. Pushed to the limits and past, dangling deep over the edge!! Huge thanks to this community!!!! much love ❤️ -gopam

You guys are cut from a different cloth, that's for sure. Everyone who made it more than two days in that environment has incredible endurance, patience, and perseverance. And those who actually finished...wow. Congratulations to everyone who managed to even get to the start.
The website was spectacular. Was that entirely developed just for this event, or is it a customized template? Feb31, did you develop that AND plan the route AND plan the logistics AND participate AND finish? Geez. That winners' ride list, KevinT, is fascinating. I can discern zero success factors out of it: it isn't the new ones, nor the big ones, nor the Japanese ones, etc. So it is clearly the RIDERS. I'm curious as to how much success is tied to driving skill and how much is maintenance skill. I get how DaBinChe, having selected relatively new equipment, was laser-guided in the spares and tools he brought along (his YT video on that was fascinating), but he is also an extremely experienced rider and had already ridden cross-country to get to the event. I wouldn't bet against him leaving tomorrow for Tierra del Fuego. But the rest of the finishers...was there anybody who couldn't, didn't, or wasn't prepared to change tires, belts, oil, plugs, etc. once or twice on the route by themselves? And were there any hotshot home wrenchers who had never ridden more than a few hundred miles in a day before the event? I guess you just have to take your chances/lumps on not being able to source parts for relatively infrequent failures like goPam's water pump. But it does make me wonder if there might be a strategy next time of creating a federation of similar scooters who can draw from a common pool of spares and expertise. Really impressive. I don't want to touch that activity with a ten-foot pole myself, but it was super exciting to watch the daily progress and see the check-ins/pleas for help from the participants here. Congratulations again.

In recent days, when I looked at the Cannonball on FB, together with my scooter riders friends, I told them referring to the MV community: "that's our GoPam!".
But the others were good too and the crazy laughs when we saw the videos of the Honda Super Cubs with the cart behind them. |

I didn’t make it through Scooter Cannonball 2021 without needing antibiotics, because I’ve had this cellulitis rash for days. Starting antibiotics now on my slow journey home!!!
Typical circus clown on fire stuff for Gopam hahahaha 🤡🔥 This is what I texted my Babers: Omg it is cellulitis!!! I thought maybe cuz it feels hot & similar to before. Same arm! Similar place on arm!!! Getting antibiotics. I told doc I had cellulitis in 2019 on the same area of arm…and asked isn’t that weird? He said yes. I’m one of those people that get weird shit with a like 1% chance. Time to call Guinness book of records. As a kid I always wants to be in those records!!! |

But man, what an experience! When the wife and I were discussing the idea of SCBR 2021, it was discussed as a Once in a lifetime experience. I'm now trying to define that as Finishing the SCBR can be the once in a lifetime experience. Wish me luck! ⚠️ Last edited by KimPossible on UTC; edited 1 time

I was going crazy looking for them and was starting to panic. I PMed you about the housing. Call Scooterwest. They have them in stock and can get it out to you today. Order 2 gaskets and 2 o-rings (in case you tear or pinch one). You should also pick up a tube of permatex at the parts store. It is a messy but straightforward job if you want to tackle it yourself. Put out the word here or on the cannonball forum if you need help. Someone will answer the call!

My spouse came around pretty quickly to needing to actually finish the cannonball for it to count. So as long as we go to the star trek convention next year I'm clear for the 2023 cannonball. I'm not sure why she thinks Star Trek is her thing and not mine - I'm the one that introduced her to Star Trek! I can't wait to find out more about the 2023 - rumors of just 3,000 miles, rumors of all paved, indications of southern route... I hope you heal well and quickly. Have fun scooter shopping!

Enjoyed going through all 11 pages of this thread but can somebody PLEASE explain to me why the routing of this trip has to include gravel roads? It seems ambitious enough to do this on asphalt and concrete. The introduction of gravel just seems like someone is adding insult to obvious injury.
