Hi I am looking for some not too expensive fog lights.
Mostly for night driving, I find the original headlight does not give me enough vision.
I am interested more in seeing in front of me than being seen.

I am concerned about drawing too much power and taxing the alternator too much.

I will also have a usb for my phone the otherwise not much else electric.

what is the Max I could put on ? max I should put on ?
Could I put these on the bike or would it draw too much power.

I realize this doesn't address your question
but
have you considered changing to LEDs?

I must add that spot lights are not suitable for seeing in fog, it takes a reflector and a special reflector glass. Making more light doesn't always mean seeing better.

This would be the first thing, on SIP they have several solutions.

60 watts should not be a problem for the GTS 300 alternator...

Thanks
1 I considered changing to an Led bulb ( from SW ) but don't think that it makes enough of a difference on the road.
2. they are called '' fog lights'' but should be called additional driving lights.
3. it is 2x 60 = 120 could the alternator handle this much with no problems.

I had some Denali's on my other motorcycle but find although very very well made they were very expensive

My favorite lights are the Darla made by Clearwater. They have a Vespa kit. I have used these lights on my BMW bikes. on Ducatis and on my previous Vespa.

Did you use the Vespa kit for the Darla and install the light where Clearwater recommended? I’m trying to configure the kit to mount the Darla on top of the fender of a 2021 Piaggio Liberty 150 and am looking for ideas if anyone has tried something similar.
Thanks.

I tried that using the kit from Scooterwest but the problem I’m having is that the stock headlight reflector seems to point the high beam way too high. I’ll try to post a photo. Has anyone else noticed this?

What I’m doing now is running the headlight bulb upside down. Since it is an H4 bulb, there is a low beam and high beam side. By putting the bulb in upside down, when I turn on the high beams, the light shines through the low beam portion of the headlight reflector and hits the ground versus if I had the bulb in right side up and the high beam light would go up in the air.

is the bulb H4 or h7 ?
try to rotate or upside down

the "problem" is that the incandescence light waves are omnidirectionl, the leds are linear..

I find that these new fangled LED Motorcycle Headlights do not offer much visibility during the day. At certain angles they are invisible compared to a regular type headlight. They may look cool, but not if you can not see them. That is not my opinion, it is my observation...

EDIT: No I dont need a headlight to see during the day, but the reason an always lit headlight is mandated is, so they can see you.
