Hello Everyone. I bought the Cuppini mod style windscreen for my GTV 300, and at first glance, nothing quite lines up nicely. Before I begin wrestling with everything, I thought I would check with the list to see if anyone else has installed one.

For starters, the bolts that are supposed to hold the screen to the bottom attachments don't quite seem long enough. The diagram shows the washer going on under the nut, but the the hexagonal cutout in the plastic for the nut to nestle into does not allow a washer to go in as well. Skip the washer? That's my go-to, but why do they include the washer then?

I'd include some pictures, but it already seems to be a three-handed job. I figure anyone who has installed one should know what I'm talking about. I thought I would seek for some hindsight before I proceed and become frustrated. Thanks.

After reading your post, my decision to have the local Vespa dealer install that windscreen on my GTV was reinforced. So sorry, no wisdom on that install here. However, I'm reminded that I've not yes taken an updated photo with the windscreen, top-box, sidestand, and color-matched panels with the accessory plug.

Having given some time for advice to trickle in, I finally took some time to put the windshield on this morning. I skipped the washers on the bottom mounts, since they didn't fit in the recesses for the nuts. Pre-installing the bolts for the bottom mounts made it easier to slip everything into place. It went together easily, though the rubber on the windshield does not line up with the plastic mount that goes on the bracket exactly - but I'm not all that OCD about it.

This particular windshield does divert all the air directly to your helmet. It's louder riding - as in wind noise - when you're riding around town. I haven't taken it out on the highway yet.

I had some other medium size windshield that only mounted to the bottom bracket. It vibrated at fast speeds quite a bit. This one seems to be much more solidly anchored.

Looking good.

In my experience... GTV windscreens are always finicky. No problem fitting on one bike, and you question what model it was even intended for on another. I kind of wonder whether the stock mounts coming off the handlebars were just a little bit inconsistent or something. I think for one of my shields, I ended up not using any of the extra washers at all, and for another, I ended up actually adding some.

I tended to stick with the mid-sized one from Motorsport the majority of the time, and switched to a tall Vespa shield I cut down a little when it got cold out. Sometimes I had a hacked-together lip for the top of it.
