Hi guys! My story starts like this. 6 mth ago, my brother brought my green jolly to a certain T.... shop for servicing. Besides the regular oil change. Brake pad for both front and back was changed too. When the bike returned. There was a constant screeching sound on the rear whenever I apply rear brakes. There was also intermittent engine warning light (orange) abs light coming on and off at times.

Up until last week, i could no longer stand the screeching sound and brought my bike down to Tong Aik. Mr Wee gave me an elaborate explaination and convinced me to change my rear brake pad again and replace the brake disc as well.

After the replacement all went well for a couple of day. The rear brake screeching sound was gone. Then on friday, something of great concern happened. I was stopping at a traffic light when suddenly my rear brake lever jam! ( cannot pull back at all, macam like stuck) after awhile, when the lights turn green. The brake worked again. I suspect it could be a brake fluid bleeding problem. Anybody has any advice or experience the same?

Thanks alot in advance😊

The most likely reason for a hydraulic brake to jam on is if the bypass port in the master cylinder has a bit of crud in it. That stops the pressure releasing from the system and keeps the pads in contact with the disc.

So lots of flushing may push that out (but might also push it further into the brake system), or you could strip the master down and clean it first which is what I would be doing.

The diagram shows a general arrangement of a master cylinder.
