I enjoyed the ride. Thanks for posting. How long was the little single lane path you were on. That looked like fun.
Iron Mountain Road is the Black Hills answer to Tail of the Dragon. It was designed with some beautiful features:
17 Miles
314 Curves
14 Switchbacks
3 Pigtails
3 Tunnels
4 Presidents (Mt Rushmore)
2 Splits
And all kinds of beautiful scenery, including views of Mt Rushmore through a couple of those tunnels. The splits are (guestimate) a half mile and a third of a mile. If we get caught behind a slow driver, we pause for a bit at the beginning of the split so we can have a good run!
Nice thing about those splits: you aren't going to have some dumbass coming at you across the center line.
We saw that a time or twelve when we last rode the Dragon; it happens on occasion here, too. It is about 20 miles from where we're staying to get to Iron Mountain Road, so we take it in several times a week. Lots of other good roads in the Black Hills, but they don't get the PR like IMR.
BIG fun on the scoots! Glad you enjoyed the video.
