Hey gang,
My scooter is nearing completion (thanks to those of you who have helped me along the way) and I am now tensioning the cables. I have the clutch cable at a good place where there is only 2mm of play at the lever. The rear brake as well is grabbing well and returning to position.
My problem at the moment is the front brake. I am using a 3rd hand tool to maintain tension, but even with that, the brake lever will not return naturally, and the brake cam seems a little stuck at the hub. Is there a simple solution to make the cam twist smoothly? I really don't want to have to take the front hub assembly apart, so can anyone help with the tension issue and the cam issue.
As always, thanks for the support.

Sounds like the cam, or something internal like the shoe-pivots; is hanging up. Did you lube these points when installing? Most likely going to have disassemble to a point. For starters, remove the hub and have a look inside. Maybe there is a burr or something hanging up the Cam

I didn't lube the shoe pivots at first and had the same problem, re installed them and gave that a little grease and it works flawlessly now.

Thanks!
You’ve said what I expected. Just hate to dismantle it.

That's a quick thing to pull apart. You'll have it sorted in no time. Just pull the wheel and hub off, twist the shoes enough to get the cam past them, add a little grease (careful not to get any on the shoes), then button it up and you're good-to go.

Also, make sure the little steel caps are on the shoes.

Give them a bit of a squeeze before you put them on so they stay put.

Thanks Moto. I learned early that a slight pinch with pliers does the trick!
